Some moves the leafs should make in the off season. They should not fool themselves about what and where they are in developement. They should still be adding good prospects to this team or young promising roster players.

A guy like Lupul has some trade value. The leafs don't need a guy like him now at 30 years old they should trade him to a team that could use him and get a prospect back.

A piece like Marc Staal or Giordano would be nice but a team would have to overpay to get one of those and the leafs shouldn't be overpaying for anything except for a franchise #1 centre or #1 defenceman.
They should try and go after a guy who might be available for a fair hockey trade. I'm looking at Jordan Staal who is rumoured to be available. And at only 25 his 6 mill contract seems fair with the cap going up as years go on may be a fit.

Tor- Phaneuf (toronto retains some salary)
Car- Jordan Staal

-Sign Leo Komorov for 2 mill max but less if you can
-Sign Trevor Smith and Bodie as they will be fair
-Sign Raymond for 1 year 2. 5 if you can or let him walk
-Let Kulemin, Bolland, McClemment walk if they want way too much
-Let guys come up and play like Leivo, Brennan, McWilliam, Percy and leave Orr and McLaren in the AHL.

-Fire Carlyle
-Hire Kevin Dineen he we help the kids develop rather than publicly critisize them.

See if you can trade Riemer for a pick and sign a veterin backup with experience who will be good in the room.

Dineen has a losing record as an NHL coach. Why would they hire someone with a record that poor?

I think Leafs should make these moves in the offseason. We don't want reimer and some leafs fans want a # one centre.

Good luck with trading Phaneuf. Any smart GM will use his 50 million and sign 2 half decent D-Men for that price.

Won't get Laughton for Lupul, sorry. You may think Lupul has that much value, but I doubt many GMs do given his injury history and contract. All of that effects his value, not just his play, which is good but hardly stellar enough to make up for the contract and injury concerns.

2 Phaneuf, Ranger and Franson got to go
Let's face it, Leafs players is not good enough and Leafs GM is a laughing stock/ good for nothing
