Toronto offseason from a realistic fan

To edm: Phaneuf, Kadri
To tor: 3rd overall

Edm gets a dman who plays 28min a game against the leagues best forwards and is criticized for every small mistake. Kadri is a great second line player and will perfect his game when he isn't under a microscope in toronto.

To Pens: rights to kulemin, 8th overall, RFA reimer, 3rd 2015
To Tor: Neal, rights to niskanen, 22ovr.

We need a second line RW and whi better than the best sniper/PWF in the NHL. Niskanen is a main contributor to Olli Maata's success and can do the same with reilly!

As a leafs fan, I call that a lateral movement. Bennet is an undersized but skilled center/winger. Kadri is the same. We should build the confidence of our players by believing in them and not giving up on them.

Nope not happening you don't trade the leafs best defensemen and a former 9th overall pick who I might add is doing fine for a 3rd overall pick with no guarantee whatsoever that they pan out, answer this simple question! Is there a possibility big or small that Bennett/Reinhardt or even draisaitl for that matter could only ever pan out to a 50-60 point player which Kadri is??

What the hell is kadri doing so wrong that he needs to be traded so badly?! only team in the league that gives up on players after a year.

^Oilers fans pretty much hate anybody that isn't an Oilers that why we are Oilers fans. If Phaneuf came here we would love him.

Realistic leafs fan - good job. I think this does make sense. Oilers may ask that the leafs retain some salary though.

Oil country, I agree dion is terrible when used as a 1/2 Dman. I think a smart team realizes that and users him as a 3-6 Dman.
This of course means he is incredibly overpaid and TO MUST retain salary for the term on that ridiculous contract.
