Islanders need Defence and the Leafs need a Centre

Islanders Trade
ALee

Leafs Trade
Franson

It makes sense to me with the recent signings of Grabovski and Kulemin

Not sure Lee is the kind of center that Toronto needs. Isles could probably use Franson tho. If they are allowed to speak to him before a trade occurs, they might be game for trading a prospect or pick (3rd or 4th) for his rights. After trading for Boyle's rights went south, I doubt they'd wanna give up another pick without knowing they'd have a shot at signing him.

The Leafs would want Lee a Big Centre that can score and plays a two way game plus great on faceoffs.
Franson is a RFA so unless another Team gives him a offer sheet which can be matched he isn't going anywhere.

I'd give up Bailey or maybe one of the young prospects like Sundstrom for Franson, but not Lee

4.) 05 Jul 2014
Different scenario Chirp. Boyle was a UFA, Franson is an RFA looking for a contract. His rights are worth more than a 3rd/4th and I'm sure the Islanders could make him a good offer

Bailey would be interesting

That could be a great deal for the Leafs actually. I'm not sure about the Isles though. Franson lacks foot speed, like he's really slow. That's not going to fit well with the Islander's high-flying offensive game. Then again, Franson isn't completely new to the roster (Grabovski and Kulemin).

He lacks lateral speed he's good from north to south. everyone seems to forget how good Franson was the last two years on the PP. If he became marginally better defensively he's a very good d-man

8.) 06 Jul 2014
Did you actually just say if Franson became a better dman he would be a very good dman? LOL! Leafs fan mentality. Haha. i'm sorry, but that's hilarious.

What's hilarious is your inability to read and your lack critical analysis skills Chirp.
