Trades to help Oilers IN THE FUTURE

To Buffalo: Ryan Hamilton
To Edmonton: 2015 6th round pick

I actually would love to see Bonino play for the Oilers, but it probably will not happen.

To Vancouver: Martin Gernat, 2015 3rd round pick, 2016 3rd round pick
To Edmonton: Nick Bonino

Nick Bonino can be a PERFECT 2nd liner for the Edmonton Oilers. And Vancouver gets a prospect, and two 3rd round picks which will end up in the last 7.

To EDM: James Van Riemsdyk
To Toronto: Jesse Joensuu , 2016 3rd round pick, Jordan Eberle

Eberle>JVR

Bonino was the center piece of the kesler trade, so why would Vancouver trade him for essentially nothing?

If EDM wanted Bonino, I think that is sufficient if not too much. But the SBR could just sign UFA Andrei Loktionov or T.J. Galiardi who are younger, scored more points last year, have a higher upside than Hamilton and would not require a draft pick to obtain. IMO it would be nice if Tim Murray signed Loktionov 24 yo; Palushaj 24 yo; Galiardi 26 yo and Stoa 27 yo to 2 way contracts to increase the likely hood that the Amerks could win the Calder Cup and instill that winning attitude for the current crop of prospects.

those players are not struggling to settle for 2way contracts. those assets are not enough for the Nucks to consider trading Bonino. 3rd round picks rarely become valuable.

I am assuming your remarks about the 2 way contracts were in reference to my post. Last year Palushaj and Stoa signed 2 way contracts. You are most likely correct about Loktionov and Galiardi, but you never know.
