NYI have played well, but I think this would help a lot.

NYI need veteran leadership in their defense.

Reinhart, Pullock, De Haan, Donovan (offensively he has dominated every level he has played in), Mayfield (big and mean), Pokka (one of the best d-man in finlands top league), Brennan (dominated the AHL), Hickey (still has some upside) and let's not forget about Hamonic who is still young and Adam Pelech.

All of these are rather very young or young.

NYI signs: Ed Jovanovski 1 yr 900k, Douglas Murray 1 yr 900k this veterans can prove themselves over this season that they are worth more and can still play in the NHL. If they play well they MIGHT get re-signed, if you look if some of the prospects are ready.
