Edmonton - hall

Toronto - franson, lupul, 1st 2015 gauthier

1.) 16 Dec 2014
An easy no for edmonton. If toronto were to get this done they would probably have to give up a center and a solid dman to address edmontons needs. It would probably start with either kadri or holland and i'm sure Rielly would have to be involved as well. in order to get big you have to give big.

2.) 16 Dec 2014
Ok toronto will counter with kadri , gardner and gauthier for hall

3.) 16 Dec 2014
Try, Reilly, JVR a first in 2015 and Gautier

4.) 16 Dec 2014
Like TMLeafs said Edmonton would want Reilly, Kadri + for Hall.

5.) 16 Dec 2014
Edmonton needs are as follow: a top pairing D-man, #1 goalie and a young, proven top 6 forward to replace Hall and probably a top end prospect or pick on top of that.
Obviously the quality of either of those pieces will impact whether you add more or not.

So JVR, Reilly, Bernier is probably the starting point.

for the record, I WOULD not make that trade.

6.) 16 Dec 2014
There is no point in trading JVR or Reilly . leafs top line is great. why break that up. they need 2nd line scoring. going after eberle to play with kadri would be best

@THEGR81
JVR, Rielly, and Bernier being the starting point for hall I hope your kidding. No way toronto is getting rid of Bernier he's proven he can be an above average number one and he is still young Toronto will sign him to a long term contract. Honestly getting rid of JVR and the chemistry he has with Bozak and Kessel wouldn't be smart and he's on a steal of a contract. And then you throw Rielly ontop of that edmonton would add huge.

No matter how you shake it edmonton is not going to be able to address all of its problems with one trade even if it includes hall

@TMLeafs

What you're saying isn't wrong - but you CANNOT acquire Hall without overpaying. There is no way.

I think you're forgetting the premium on young talent in this league, especially a 23 yrd old player with top 10 talent and a relatively reasonable contract.

As I said at the end of my post - I would not do that trade, but you're kidding yourself if you think Hall can be had for less than that.

9.) 16 Dec 2014
@TMLeafs then Hall will never wear a Leafs jersey. But in this case it would be better for the Leafs if he wont. Would be insane to trade that much for Hall.

100% agree with THEGR81

From what I can see Edmonton has put themselves in a really bad place trying to trade Hall. News came out last night essentially saying he is uncoachable. If anything a Hall trade will very closely resemble the Seguin trade to Dallas. However Seguin had more value at that time then Hall has now. NO WAY Edmonton will be able to get top D man, top goalie, and top 6 forward. It will be more or less top 6 forward and 2 prospects and maybe a pick
