Ottawa receives: 2015 1st rounder, Viktor Fasth

Edmonton receives: Craig Anderson, Kyle Turris, Jared Cowen maybe a prospect or pick

Now that zibanejad is playing well with his line we have three good young centers but none are pure #1 centers so this way we can have the oilers pick for a chance at being top 2 plus Ottawa will most likely fall in the standings because of turris leaving so we would have two shots at getting either mcdavid or eichel

So what you are saying is Connor McDavid, or Jack Eichel and Fasth are worth a slowly declining aging starter, a second line centre a #4-5 d-man and maybe a secondary asset, seriously, give me a break, if you want the Oilers #1 pick this year start at Karlsson and add from there

Anderson will be in the league another at least four years and he's 6th in the league in save percentage don't see a decline there, oilers need a second line center who is young so turris is perfect all around and cowen is a second pair D right now with more playing time and development he'll be pretty steady on the back end, this fits all of edmontons needs

Oilguy, If that trade was made today how can you say its McDavid and Eichel? 1. Turris is a huge improvement on what the oilers have behind nugent Hopkins 2. You say Craig Anderson is a declining goalie, look at fasth, Anderson is way better. 3. Jared Cowen has shown potential this year that he can play top 4 and the oilers Defense is atrocious so he immediately makes an impact. This would be a pure tank move on Ottawa's part.

I would not even think about doing this if I were ottawa. Edmonton gets some solid pieces and with a few more trades they could go on a huge winning streak. Ottawa then makes their team a lot weaker and doesn't even get McDavid or Eichel. If this trade were to take place it would be closer to the draft and if edmonton is in one of those top two spot ottawa would have to add their first rounder to this package I would think. to much uncertainty right now to make that deal
