Dallas Trades
Eakin
Daley

Toronto Trades
Gardiner
Biggs (AHL)
1st Round Pick 2015

Dallas is buried and its a step back 2 steps forward Trade which rebuilding Teams do.
Daley is 31yrs old and Gardiner is 24yrs old so Dallas gets younger which rebuilding Teams do.
Eakin is a hard one to part with but the Stars are deep at Centre and you have to give to get and getting a 1st Round Pick is a good price plus Biggs who again may not look like a future NHLer but its only his 2nd year as a Pro and he still is young enough to develop into a NHL Player in a few years with patients.

Toronto is deep with young DMen so Trading Gardiner at this stage for Robidas past Defensive Partner Daley makes the Leafs solid on Defence and Defensive pairings.
Eakins adds to what the Leafs have built this year at Forward with a lot more support Players with heart, grit, and some offensive ability to boot.
Sending TSmith back to the AHL and replacing him with Eakin makes the Leafs truly solid on 4 lines and that wears down other Teams, Boston did it that way for years and they did ok didn't they.

Thoughts?

I don't mind this except the fact were giving up a young 2nd line Center, on a cheap contract, you won't get a young Center from a team who needs structure, and Daley will only be moved if were out of it at the deadline, they'll try to move Goligoski before Daley.

We don't really need Eakin and I wouldn't feel comfortable trading my 1st in this year's draft. You can have Biggs for a bag of pucks if you want him.
