This is only a possibility for Ottawa if for whatever reason Ladd and the Jets can't agree to terms and Winnipeg has no other choice but to trade Andrew and get a return for him rather than letting him walk.

You should be giving up a first, not a second. In my opinion. Or add a higher add propsect from Ottawa like Matt Puempel & a second or a first.

@el troubadour, your response is laughable. Acquiring a Middle 6 fwd(Michalek) a bottom 6 fwd(Chiasson) a near NHL ready prospect(Claesson) and a Second round pick is pretty substantial for a guy who has never cracked 30 goals in his career. Obviously he brings intangibles to the table like leadership and grit that you have to factor in to his trade value as well.

If hypothetically this trade were to happen, Ladd being a LW, slotting him in on the third line isn't out of this world. Hoffman scored 27 goals on mostly playing on the third and fourth lines this past season with next to no PP time. MacArthur his a comparable player to Ladd and he already has quite a bit of chemistry with Turris already.

If they can't resign him why would ottawa possibly get burned if laad dosnt really sign with them and for what they'd have to trade for him I just don't think it's worth the risk
