To Canadiens - Wayne Simmonds
To Flyers - Alex Galchenyuk, 4th round pick

The Flyers are looking for players that will help them more in the future, and the canadiens are looking for players that already at their best.

maybe the 4th round pick should be a 3rd, 2nd, or even a 1st, but i think a 4th is good.

Simmonds is one of the better players in hockey it's going to take more than Galchenyuk and even a first round pick with his cap hit

I'm a leafs fan and don't get me wrong, I can't stand the Habs. But you're adding on to Galchenyuk to get Simmonds? that's ridiculous. He's 20/ 21 I believe and set to be a career 60 point 2nd line centre with speed and skill and you're adding on top of him to get a lower quality player 50pt winger) who's 6-8 years older? In what world does this make sense.

*note; not 100% on the ages. Don't really follow either team but should be in the ballpark.

Right now Galchenyuk is a 2 nd Line center, but still has the potential (talent is clearly there) to grow into a 1st line center (if he doesn't get to much beat up by his girlfriend)

In late December, The Habs And flyers were talking about galchenyuk for simmonds.
They might still be talking about that.

Only one possibly could be Galchenyuk. But would be in some big package deal.... and Bergevin isn't going to trade him for Simmonds. Simmonds is good ,but is he better because Giroux makes him better. ? Now if Chucky was somehow involved in a package Habs send to try and get Giroux. I'd go for that. That's what Habs need.. not a 50 point winger, won't ever happen but wish it would. Been a fan since 79.. and I can't remember an elite center. And , no Pierre Turgeon wasn't... maybe John Beliveau was the last.. and only really elite center..

Habs pass big time. Only way chucky gets traded is if an elite centre comes back.

Chucky is a great C, there's no debate, but Simmonds is monster winger, with an unbelievable cap hit. For what Simmonds does in his game and to not even make 4M is an injustice. Flyers wouldn't trade him for a Centre when they already have Giroux Couturier Schenn Laughton and Konecny all in their system, not to mention Gagner and Cousins in the minors also. None of which (besides Giroux IMO) are more skilled than Galchenyuk, but between the 2 players, I would rather have Simmonds, because of his style of play and his cap hit.
