Minnesota Wild:

- Mikhail Grigorenko

Colorado Avalanche:

- Matt Dumba

==================

Matthew Dumba hasn't really worked out for the Minnesota Wild in my opinion. He was chosen 7th overall but did not really prove he can play at an NHL Level.

Mikhail Grigorenko isn't what everybody hoped he would be. Drafted 12th overall but only has shown signs to be a 3rd line centre. With Colorado his numbers have improved. I believe in Minnesota they will improve even more.

Minnesota needs a centre and i think Mikhail Grigorenko can get the job done for them.

And the Avalanche get a good sized physical young right hand shot defenceman. So that means, even if they lose Tyson Barrie, they still have a right handed shot to try and fill his shoes.

Simply saying:

Colorado needs defence.
Minnesota needs a centre.
Both haven't really worked out as hoped.

Grigger isn't that proven that he can get Dumba in return. Also I think Grigorenko played wing most of last season.

Not bad, but Colorado will be adding. You just said why Dumba is better/ has more value.

I do like this trade but yeah Colorado will need to add something more but it's not bad.

Also not to mention trading players under 22 to a divisional rival can only bring bad things.

Why do you say Dumba didn't work out in minny, he's only 22 and he's been getting better every year, he has the most well rounded game out of our d-core ( excluding Suter), he is just on a slower growth rate. I know that grigorenko has upside, but it seems like every other year he thinks about going to the KHL. It will take a lot more then him to get Dumba.

That's exactly what I think about when people call Reinhart a bust ^^ the guy is only 22 like he's clearly developing slowly. But he's so young still and defenseman take longer than forwards. But atleast Dumba can stay on the roster, but then again oilers LHD depth is pretty deep now. But still, not an excuse for a 4th overall player.

Sorry MCjesus big difference between Dumba and Reinhart. Reinhart is close to bust territory.
Dumba > Reinahart.

@Into the Wild

Because i and i'm sure you expect for top 10 overall picks to be better than what Dumba is.

I want my other selections i draft in later rounds to develop slowly.
Yeah, exactly. He is 22. He should of been more of what he is now.

@BJ obviously. He definitely wasn't saying Reinhart is better. Just comparing the fact that it's a little ridiculous to say Dumba isn't working out. Expandable yes, but not a bust.
