if the oilers really want trouba they would have to give up a good peice because the jets know they want another good defensemen

maybe something like

oilers: eberle, 2nd

jets: trouba

id say straight up trouba for eberle but the oliers need to add if they want a good, young rhd, this gives the jets a good clutch player with a decent saary to make there top 6 dangerous yet still have good depth on defense and gives oilers a good young rhd who they can sign longterm at a decent price.

If the Jets trade Trouba to Ed it would take a younger and cheaper player like Draisaitl or Puljujarvi to make it work. Eberle is very good but at $6 mil per year the Jets wouldn't want to take that on.

Severe unrealistic overpay by the Oilers.
1 overpay for a D a decade isn't organizational disaster but 2 is.
Never ever Eberle + for Trouba!

Maroon +3rd and 4th ( No Oilers 2nd rounder available in 2017 unless they can get it back from Boston)

Pouliot + Osterle or Simpson or Musil or Caleb jones or other D prospect ( would say Davidson, but he's likely gone in the expansion draft June 20th) for Trouba is more realistic in value for both teams assuming last year was just an off year for Trouba's numbers and play.

IMO, Trouba would be a great player for the Oilers.

I submitted a post But for some reason is never got posted.

Oilers - Trouba

Jets - Pouliot, Davidson

But like k99 siad, Davidson would be a good pickup at the expansion draft . So adding one of those prospects would be a good option. Think the value is good.

Oilers still need one more top RHD and Trouba would fill that spot nicely.

I know teams have to overpay for good young defenseman, but trouba was the 5th defenceman on Winnipeg, he's way to overvalued. Plus he wants way to much money, guessing he's stuck with Winnipeg.

McJC If you read my 1st post I explain why I think Wpg wouldn't do the Eberle trade. $, age, term and usefulness for the Jets are all factors in any trade for Trouba. Does anyone believe that the Jets would trade Trouba for any combination of Davidson, Pouliot, Maroon, and any other farfetched Oilers prospects? Wpg has much better prospects that that will be on the Jets soon. I guess the Oiler trolls won't see the overrated Trouba on their roster where he would be their #1 d-man. Face it unless they do a good trade for a d=man from any team, Ed will still have a very weak defence.

Trouba isn't worth anything more than a Pouliot or eq player. Sorry. and that's only if he proves last year was an off year and improves his stats. If he plays like he did last year value goes down to a Matt Stajen or eq level player.

Remember. Someone's going to be gone in the expansion draft as you can only protect 3D unless you want to expose more forwards.
tick tick Winnipeg. No contract yet. Whatcha going to do with Trouba caz he's the odd man out right now on the protected D list.

McJC I think Eberle is a very good player that would easily be in the top two lines on the Jets. But Eberle's contract is up when the Jets have to pay Liane, Conner Hellebuyck, Wheeler etc and the Jets will have enough problems paying those players. But in a trade for Trouba, Eberle who would be 29 at the end of his deal, would demand too much $ and term for the jets of the future. That is why the Jets would want one of the Oilers younger players now. This is just a moot point as I really don't believe Chevy will Trade Trouba now, and Ed would not trade Draisaitl or Puljujarvi now. K99 your response is in Trouba's value is delusional. Look Ebs is a good player, but he is not who Winnipeg needs. They are already loaded on future top 6 wingers. They would be looking for a center.
