McDonagh is the Rangers Top D-man, I don't think they are going to just give him away. He will cost Galchenyuk ++ and I don't see the first being enough. Also McDonagh likely isn't even on the trade market. So this is a pipe dream in essence.

Montreals window is already so small. And when a team can't score and has one of the most immobile D in the league, Ryan McDonough at 4.7 mill for a few more years could be just what they need. It's not a terrible thought. A top pair D for a 2nd line winger.

So he’s a top 6 on another team? So even though he’s a third line guy on mtl his value should be of a top 6? He’s not lived up to the hype at all. Montreal should have traded him in a package to get drouin, not give up their top prospect who happens to be a defense in which they have serious needs.

Montreal’s second line is a joke a joke and he can’t even make that. He’s playing on the third line. he’s not living up to his expectations and isn’t even close enough to be the main piece in a package for McDonough. That whole team is so overrated it’s digusting. Without price they are a basement team!
