Erik Karlsson + Tom Pyatt + Alexander Burrows to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Jesse Puljujarvi + Darnell Nurse + Patrick Maroon + 2018 1st Round Draft Pick + 2019 2nd Round Draft Pick.
*Ottawa acquires tons of young futures. Edmonton acquires a piece that could out them over the top.

Mike Hoffman + Patrick Maroon to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Jordan Kyrou + Magnus Paajarvi + Vince Dunn + 2018 3rd Round Draft Pick.
*Ottawa flips the vet from the Edmonton deal and one of their better scorers for a tantalizing prospect in Kyrou, and a decent dman in Dunn. St. Louis acquires an excellent source of secondary scoring, and a good grinder for the bottom six.

Dion Phaneuf (10% Salary Retained) to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Brooks Orpik + 4th Round Draft Pick
*Ottawa rids themselves of a terrible contract, in exchange for another terrible contract. Orpik has two less years though, so he's a better contract - yet, he's a worse player. With the retained salary, the added pick is needed.

Derick Brassard + Nate Thompson to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Matt Calvert + Gabriel Carlsson + Markus Hannikainen + 2018 4th Round Draft Pick.
*Columbus is said to have interest in Brassard, and Brassard isn't opposed to the idea. This allows Columbus to be more 'over-the-top' in a tight metro division. For Ottawa, they get a good prospect in Carlsson, an 'eh' prospect in Hannikainen, and a decent depth guy in Calvert.

Johnny Oduya + Mike Condon to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2018 3rd Round Draft Pick + 2018 5th Round Draft Pick.
*This ONLY happens if Aaron Dell is shipped off in SJS, which is likely to happen. San Jose acquires more picks, while shipping off a meh dman and a backup goalie.

Ryan Dzingel to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2018 3rd Round Draft Pick + 2019 4th Round Draft Pick + Andrey Pedan.

As good as Karlsson obviously is, this probably makes oilers worse in the big picture. They need those young assets and picks and if this happened, they would have 3 players going to make $33 mill. Bad idea. (Mcdavid 12.5, Karlsson 11-12 and draisatl 8.5). No one gives that up without re-signing him.

Kyrou is a ‘tantalizing prospect’ that you probably never heard of before Boxing Day

Why would caps add a pick to take on extra years on an overpaid Dman over the guy they already have?

Calvert is a ‘depth guy’ leaving Columbus and in the top 6 when he arrives in Ottawa lol must be a long flight from Ohio to Ottawa for his game to improve.

It's tough to do those full rebuilds, not a bad job by you. I'd recommend for OTT to fix their goaltending first tho. Last in the league in many goalie stats. With average goaltending, pretty sure the Sens are 8-10 spots higher. Last year clearly was a fluke, but they're better than bottom 3.

If no one else wants them then why all the rumours and why the calls specifically by some teams. Obviously it's too late this time for the Sens to make a push so we will hear and see the trades coming. I just hope we don't give too much as we did before. If Karlsson goes first, the Sens will get way better. I believe the Sens play too much around Karlsson. I like the trades above but Ottawa adds Ceci going to CBJ. Many ifs in here but not bad.
