the team with the second pick wouldn't likely do that, patches is a ufa after next year. They would need something back that they have under control for years to come.

I know Dahlin is consensus number 1, this Russian who is considered number 2, is he any good? I didn't notice him much at World Jrs .
I guess, is he a number 2 over all kike Malkin? Or number 2 like Rinehart?

Apparently the Russian is a pure goal scorer and is projected to be better than Reinhart from what iv heard and read but who knows.

The difference between 2 and 5 isn't much. I'd rather have 5th and let's say 20th and a prospect than just 2nd imo.

The team at #2 probably won't need Pacioretty. They will want that good prospect who ever they pick at #2 instead.

You would either have to go for 1st to get Dahlin or just stick with 5th and take Tkachuk or Zadina and keep Patches. Both Tkachuk and Zadina look really good at world jrs. Zadina would be more of a Montreal guy as Tkachuk is a more grittier player and habs already have Gallagher and Shaw.
