I’m a big O’Reilly fan as well vbb’s. Curious to know what you think it would take if the leafs wanted him? If Bozak doesn’t come back, Mathews, O’Reilly and Kadri would be nice. I know defense is the first priority, I’m just wondering value wise because you seem to think O’Reilly is a stud.

He’s a great 2way player but I feel the leafs should use the 7.8 million cap hit he carry’s elsewhere ( RHD ) . Kadri fills the 2c role greatly. Yes O’Rielly is better but I don’t see him having chemistry with players like Marner and Nylander. He’d do best with a winger like Jamie Benn, Blake Wheeler or Phil Kessel. Babcock would love him that’s for sure tho. Buffalo would probably ask for Nylander which I wouldn’t do as a leafs fan. Don’t think Nylander will ever be as good as o’rielly tho.

I agree they need defense. I wanted O’Reilly when Buffalo signed him.
