Pinball, sens ain't going to drive bomb the season on purpose just to let Colorado get the top pick, they need a suitable replacement plus top prospect and picks. Your saying what a team in that position would take, sure wouldn't give up as much for a 1 year rental as teams that can resign him but that doesn't mean they'll get him with a lesser package because Sens would be like, ya, he's only a rental for you so you can have him for less, just dumb.

Kessel was basically traded for Kapanen and Draft Picks, so yes in Ottawa's situation I would Trade Karlsson for something similar to what I proposed, the only high draft picks they will get are from non playoff teams and they won't trade those for a UFA after this season.
If anyone on here thinks Ottawa will get a Top 10 pick this year for Karlsson you are dreaming.

Yes ProDepth Ottawa was asking for Heiskanen from Dallas and Sergachev from Tampa Bay and that's why he is still in Ottawa, no Team will give Ottawa that type of Player for Karlsson, if Ottawa is like you waiting for that type of Deal he will play out the Year for the Sens then walk away as a Free Agent just like Tavares did this Summer, what I proposed isn't unlike what any other contender will offer Ottawa.
Not saying he is Traded to the Leafs just that the package will be similar to what I posted.
