5 million seems to be the new 4 million.

It's funny bc salaries seem to have jumped by 15%-30% for new signings, but the cap only went up by 6%. Now you could argue:1) your core player get more of your payroll 2) the future value of this type of contract i. e. the contract signed today at $5 million is a bargain in the last few years and 3) one signing doesn't necessarily have a large impact on your pay roll (depending on the rest of your team).

However, it's a little troubling when you consider that gap.
