Hi,
Does anyone believe we will have anything significant to cheer about regarding the leafs this year? I mean Dubas-Shanahan-Hunter-lamirello seem to have a rebuild plan that still has to take shape ie trough trading off old core pieces etc. I wonder how it feels for a player to play "in their midst" ie "the old core" knowing the ownership doesn't have short term or long term faith in them. So, my point is how to the foot soldiers ie players that been hired to fit it for this season get motivated or okay like they want to be all in for the cup or close contention? And how does it effect young players like kadri Reilly gardiner Harrington and other young players when management isn't really in it to win now?
I mean will we see the leafs add serious pieces in coming weeks new core pieces to give the young guns encouragement for the future and in management.
Can you reply what you think might happen. Appreciate critic and thoughts.

well idk what's going to happen. most exciting thing could be a phaneuf trade i guess, or winning the lottery and getting matthews haha. to answer your scond question, its easy why they get motivated: they want another contract. you don't play well, you're going to be out of the league fast. for the young guys, idk, likely doesn't affect them much at all since they know they're the first pieces to arrive at the nhl evel of a future core that will ideally be built to compete.

If they get Mathews they'll be all offence and no defence. Take it from an Oil fan it doesn't work! Lol I'm sure they'll do a better job then Edmonton management.

You've lost it bud! No way leafs are giving up soshnikov and to pair him with jvr is overpayment and then sum. I say NO! and everyone on this sight (majority) WILL AGREE.
