Exactly what Oilers want right now is what Karlsson could do in spades, doubt they Sens give up the two time Norris for that, even if he's decent defensively, he produces like an elite forward and is a perennial Norris candidate + fan favourite, going to take a lot.

Kinda overpay on the Oilers behalf.
Darnell is exempt from the expansion draft hence a valuable commodity currently. Edmonton has no 2017 2nd. 2nd rounder would have to be a 2018 2nd if it formed part of the deal.
Oiler cannot trade for a defenceman until the Vegas draft is complete. after June 20th when the draft is done the trade may have some basis, but likely it's Davidson that's on his way to Vegas. Delete the 2nd rounder and Davidson and there could be merit to this trade AFTER JUNE 20th 2017.
Realistically I don't see Ottawa trading Karlson for anything. but hey. Subban and Webber got traded.

I doubt the Stars give up Klingberg for anything like this, Dallas have 2 positions of liability, Defenseman and goaltending, they NEED Klingberg, unless you overpay dramatically, I don't see Stars letting go of Klingberg at all, especially being RD.

Oilers cannot trade for a defenceman until after June 20th Vegas draft.
Darnell Nurse is exempt from the draft hence a valuable commodity up till the June 20th draft. I would think Klefbom or Sekera + Nail + pick would be more along the asking price for Klingberg. Klingberg had 1 good year which could be deemed as beginners luck. Risky move sending assets for someone who may have had beginner's luck. No matter what the trade I just don't see Dallas giving him up though. Oilers would love him. but just don't see him being on the trade market.

Even if they could. Wideman no matter what is given is a NO NO NO! Calgary's stuck with the penalty drawing overpaid official assaulting machine! At least Fayne can block shots and play instead of being in the box with every marginal thing he does. plays PK well. Edm is better off keeping Fayne instead of attaining Wideman. I'm not convinced that there won't be an off ice circuis like Bertuzzi over Wideman and his actions. Best to stay away from this poisen.

Do it. Quality top 4 defensemen, and a contributing 3rd liner for a 2nd line left wing, and a 6th defencemen. I can tell you know how to deal in the good players
