Capitalss offseason,
Before draft:
Trade away Penners rights for 3rd round pick,
Trade away Grabovskis rights for 4th round pick,
Draft:
Draft Jake Virtanen 13th overall
Virtanen is an explosive player at 6'1, he is a power forward who should be NHL ready with 3 years.
Free Agency:
Sign Martin Brodeur for 2.5m to be backup. He is a veteran who will be able to keep Braden Holbty calm and playing his game.
Sign Olli Joikinen for 3.5m, Caps need a centerman for the 2nd/3rd line.
Attempt to Sign Paul Bissonette for around 1. 0m, he is an excellent player for a teams fanbase and a fourth line type of guy.
Sign Dany Heatley 2.5m, He is a winger who can score, the Caps are willing to take a risk with his unconsistent play to make playoffs.
Sign Dan Boyle 3.5m, a solid defenseman who would play good with Mike Green and could help get him back on his game.
