Tampa bay needs to add depth to there D before the playoffs.
1.) So you trade the Gudas (who will be back by playoffs and isn't close to UFA), and Sustr, who is a young, developing D-man currently on the roster for a UFA D-man (who may not even be that much better than Gudas, and certainly won't replace his toughness) and a 4th. This upgrades Tampa until they would have gotten Gudas back around playoff time, and doesn't really add depth because they are shipping a non injured NHL defenceman as part of the deal. To me this would be a no brainer for Edmonton and a very short sighted move for Tampa, which is against their philosophy.

I don't think I've ever seen a trade on here that's actually happened. Its just for fun and things you would like to see. And I've seen some of your trades. Not any better. So I would not be talking.

I'm at least considering each teams needs and I think my ability to access trade value is solid.
Your trade does completely ignore TBs needs and it's situation.
Carle and Gudas are injured. That's why they are looking to maybe add a defenseman. While Petry theoretically could be that guy, how does it make any sense when you trade away two of your own defenseman at the same time?
And as jbs said, Gudas is at least as good as Petry and definitely tougher, which is a thing TB definitely lacks.
That's why I said put a thought in your trades. Because it completely ignores TBs needs and situation. Period.

4.) If schenn is in you top pairing for defence you know your team is going to suck. This team would never be able to get the puck out of its own end. Just bad overall trades and the don't even get any better.

Yakupov has been nothing but a HUGE Disappointment for the oilers, petry doesn't want to sign with the oilers, and bringing in the schenn brothers adds defensive and offensive skill plus toughness, they both are not afraid to get physical,
Then by adding gryba you get a tough defencemen, someone on the back end who will actually drop his gloves not like aulie getting his butt kicked everytime.
And oilers don't need Mcdavid, they already have enough high end skill better off trading him for someone more experienced, wheeler is a big body with speed and skill who can also play the physical game. I can tell right away Mcdavid is another Kessel, he only skates one way and is a cry baby. there's a reason why mcdavid never seen any ice in the world juniors in the last 5 mins cause he can't play defence. that's the last thing the oilers need.
All i'm doing is getting rid of the disappointments.
So please explain how these trade ruin edmontons future?
6.) If you think your top pairing d with schenn and klefbom will win you games you need to watch more hockey. Schenn has never lived up to his potential. he has shown he is capable to play in the nhl as a bottom 3 guy but not even close to the top two and unless klefbom progresses huge going into next year he's not a top two dman either. sure toughness is great but it won't win you hockey games when you are getting burned by guys that are more skilled.
7.) Replying to the post above about mcdavid not playing the last 5 min of the game he did play in the mast 5 min by the way. and why would you put mcdavid in when u have better defensive players? What top offensive prospects are ever trusted with playing the last minute to save a lead that's where your defensive forwards come in. stupid comment think before you post, mcdavid isn't known for his defensive prowess, neither was crosby and look what happened. and no he is no slackoff like kessel, he hustles and he works hard

Agree ^ Schultz is not the player oilers expected him to be. They need more of a team player that's physical and will stand up for his team. I think gryba is what oilers need

Players would want to come to edmonton cause they know they are willing to pay them cause there desperate.
I think would be solid trade. Help the oilers out in net big time and it gives the sharks a youngster with potential.
