Both good young D. Have seen a lot more of trouba play and am a fan of how he plays but haven't heard anything but good things about jones too. jones is locked up for 5 more seasons at 5.4 instead of trouba 1 year at 2.8 before he gets a huge raise and possibly sits out again if he doesn't get what he wants. That alone would make me not move jones.

Jones is one of the few d i'd personally wouldn't mind the leafs moving marner for now Trouba on the other hand is a good 4th dman but nothing more. You need offense to play long in the NHL and he has none. Jones will be Elite.

@Nylander Trouba would have had the highest PPG amongst defenceman amongst the leafs D this season but he apparently doesn't have any offence? Do you just throw darts at a dartboard blindfolded to evaluate a players value?

Almost every D has an assist total that outweighs their goals. Don't see how that doesn't create offense. Also last week we were asked to believe that Jacob slavin is they greatest defensive Dman on the league, and a top 10 overall. his numbers are virtually identical in PPG and goals vs assists ratio. Secondly, there's a lot of players that played long long careers with little offense. There's a need for all types.

Would much rather have a 2way dman that has a stronger offensive game the deffense who piles up shots and is a strong preasence on the PP.

Dude Trouba really took strides after his holdout or whatever. He was easily Winnipegs 2nd best, if not the 1st best dman for most of the season. I know I know it's Winnipeg, not saying much lol.
