Here are off season moves the Sens should make!

Re-sign Hoffman.

Re-sign Ceci

Ott Trade Bobby Ryan

NJ Trade 1st round pick (11th)

Gives Sens 11th and 12th picks. This would give them 2 high picks in a really good draft.

Sens pick 2 of the following players: Jost, McCleod, Chychrun, Juolevi, Sergachyov, Gauthier or Keller.

Sens sign Loui Erickson 5 yrs 6.5 M

Bobby Ryan won't fetch you an 11th.
Looking like a good kid 'till he got in the Hands of the Senators.

Actually don't see Sens resigning Hoffman, heard the guy wants a really big contract.

6.5M is such an overpayment for Eriksson! Especially for 5 years. Guy is going to be a cap dumb! Would love it if i was Eriksson though.

I think what Sens really need is a starting goalie.
Anderson isn't one and Hammond isn't one.

Sadly, Anderson got too old. I don't think he is going to take you guys to the kind of deep in the playoffs like 3 years ago with Gonchar.

I actually think Ryan is worth more than the pick. Although he lost scoring touch since coming from Anaheim, his playmaking abilities and him actually playing defense now actually makes up for it. Boosted stats by Getzlaf and Perry aren't there anymore but he did good last season.

Ottawa's goalie situation is alarming but not catastrophic, Anderson has been good even for his age, he's been playing like a starter and that's all they can ask for, yes he's old but he's not playing like it. Best case scenario, he has to perform until they get an other guy who can start in net for a good 60games.



I don't believe sens would do a one-one player trade in Ryan vs Gauthier or Ryan vs Keller or Ryan vs Sergachyov or Ryan vs McCleod, list goes on.

Ryan is not worth anything close to the 11th overall. @EdmontonOilers, are you old enough to have seen Eriksson play his career? No he is not worth 6.5 but he is also far from a cap dump.

NJ needs help up front and they have money to spend.

Sens need to get rid of Ryan or Hoffman, they will never win with 2 guys that disappear after the Month of January.

Hoffman might have a to turn it around with Boucher.

And what then for the Sens? Then they need Turris' scoring and play, which they already kinda need more of right now.

As a sens fan I would be happy if we traded Cowen, maybe packaged some prospect forwards for some top 9 help and waited till next year. Let Ceci figure out his game, he has looked great since the All Star break. See if Chabot, Englund and Wikstrand make any noise during training camp and go from there. Wideman and Boro are both good bottom pairing guys, Weircioch is having a much better second half and Methot looks a lot better after having a break, and coming off the injuries.

The Sens aren't a playoff team now, and trading their #1 centre isn't going to help them next year. Brodin may be good but the price is too high.
