Two moves for Bergevin this offseason :

Mtl : Lars Eller, 3rd round pick 2017, Sven Andrighetto
Cbj : Scott Hartnell, Dillon Heatherington

Hartnell and Torts aren't getting along, he could fit on the second line pretty well. Kakelainen drafted Eller back in St louis and he could pivot their 3rd line.

Mtl : Tomas Plekanec, 2nd round pick 2018
Nyi : Anders Lee

New york has a lot of cap space if they don't sign okposo amd nielsen. Pleky could take Nielsen's spot as their 2nd line center. As of now, Lee is playing on the 3rd line, but I think that he could be the Habs' second center until McCarron developps properly.

1st trade ain't terrible all depends if Kakelainen is high on Eller. 2nd one I doubt NY will trade lee for a aging 6M center which they have tons of.

Two thumbs up for Chevy for getting the deal done and feeling out the market at the right time.
Ladd had his chance to sign a month or 2 ago for the 6yr/ $6m deal but he didn't.
Jets getting a good young player in Dano and a 2016 1st rounder in what's going to be a very strong draft in the 1st round is a great move on Chevy.
Being from Winnipeg and a huge Jets fan I'm happy Ladd gets the opportunity to play for a Champion. With the Jets not making the playoffs this season I will be cheering for Ladd and the Hawks to win the cup. The Hawks definitely have a better player in Ladd then they did last time they had him.

This summer :

Mon : Tomas Plekanec (retain 15 %)
Win : Mathieu Perreault, Erik Foley, 3rd/ 4th round pick

I think that Plekanec just isn't the right fit for montreal. If galchenyuk plays center next year, 6$ a year is just too much for a 2nd line center. Perreault could be great with Patches as he is a good passer. The Habs save cash and, while Perreault isn't as good as Plek, he is a bit younger.

You say he just isn't a good fit for Montreal, did ya even think about Winnipeg? Jets are fine with Little/ Schiffle as top 2 centers. don't need Pleks and his bigger contract.

He's not the right fit as a number 1 center.... I personally think he's a really good number 2.. good defensively, gets 50 to 60 points.. good penalty killer. He's jus put on the wrong role.. and I dunno if Winnipeg would do this.. I get what your saying but I'd rather see him stay... as the number 2 center.

Sorry HumHum.. didn't really read the whole thing. Jus seen the trade.. actually.. I don't mind it. Lol.. Jus .. don't think the Jets would wanna do it.. even at 15%, I don't think they are going to wanna pay him that much. They have Little and Sheiffle. I wish and hope Galchenyuk becomes a number one center. I'm jus not sure, cause Therien won't jus let him .. I think these last 20 odd games he should jus let him do his thing and see if he is a center man. This is season 4....

Explanation : Colombus has a lot of forwards prospects but is thin on RHD. Montreal has too much defensemen and could use a little cap relief. I think Tom Gilbert > Moutrey, as Moutrey has yet to play an AHL/NHL game but Colombus takes on a contract so it makes it fair

Mtl : Jarred Tinordi
Njd : 4rd round pick, 6th round pick

Could still be a bust on the Devios but wouldn't cost them much and Tinordi might become a top-4 for them or at least play on their bottom pair

Jared Tinordi trade is just pointless for Montreal. They haven't really gave him a solid chance and he is a 1st Rd pick.
