Vancouver: G Jacob Markstrom
Philadelphia: D Robert Hagg
-Philadelphia's goaltending depth is awful. Emery is a bad backup, their prospects aren't the greatest and Mason is injured. Markstrom is putting up stellar numbers in the AHL and was decent last year when he was the Canuck's backup.
-Canucks have a weak defence prospect pool. Hagg would help that. Plus he's Swedish and Vancouver has a fetish for the Swedes.
1.) Good trade, makes sense for both teams.
2.) Bad defensive depth? One of our 2014 late-round picks was on the all-star team at the WJC

New Jersey: D Adam Larsson
-NJD have no RW's under 30. Jensen is one of Van's best prospects. Larsson hasn't done much in the NHL. Could use a change of scenery. Weber replaces Larsson on the depth chart.
-Van gets a young RHD that still has potential. Hopefully could turn it around with the Swedes in Van (Sedin's and Edler)

Edmonton: From the Basement
-Just a few trades to try and turn Edmonton in the right direction. unfortunately terrible over-payments from signings make it hard to move certain guys.
Edmonton: LW David Perron
Pittsburgh: C Brandon Sutter
-Dupuis is out for a while. Perron replaces him (57pts last year)
-Sutter is a gritty two way forward. Helps with Edmonton's overall defensive play
Edmonton: RW Nail Yakupov, D Jeff Petry, EDM 3rd '15
Arizona: D Keith Yandle, C Antoine Vermette
-Yandle and Vermette is on the block apparently. Yakupov hasn't done well in edmonton but still has potential to become a dynamic winger. Petry replaces Yandle until one of their young guys steps up
-Yandle is an excellent offensive defenseman. upgrades Edmontons overall defense. Veremtte is a vet centerman that can cover the 2C.
Edmonton: C Mark Arcobello
Chicago: RW Brian Bickell (30% retained/ 1.4M)
-Chicago is in cap troubles. Bickell is $4mill and expendable.
-Edmonton gets a lot tougher. not so soft anymore.
