Sounds like DAL is keeping Garbutt's pay.
I don't mind this trade, it's not awful.
Not great, but semi-decent. Probably helps DAL
moreso, but a trade for Sharp was likely going to go that way.
I don't know Daley's cap, but I think it is less than Oduya and Dallas has been aiming at Oduya anyway. So CHI may keep Daley and Oduya may end up in DAL. Provided the cap works, of course. Also (already) rumor that CHI is lined up to flip Daley.
In any case, it's a decent trade. IMO.

Yeah, from what I've read they want to resign Kruger and Oduya from the cap they cleared with this. Think Oduya has 3.3m per or so. so they save 1.7m with this move, which could be a rather large part of what Kruger will get.
One thing I mind is: DAL defense was bad before. Not that Daley is an overly great defender, but he sure logged some minutes. That might be a concern for DAL.

With Daley gone I wouldn't be surprised to see Oleksiak in the NHL for a season.

Reasonable after the suckish start to the season. I think noone should be untouchable, coach and GM should be fired, too.

What moves do you think the Habs need to do? I think a top-6 winger and a no.1 center are still needed. Also we need to trade either Budaj or Tokarski
1.) I think they need E. Kane in a big way. He's the type that needs to be #1 though. Galchenyuk, Gallagher & Kane 1st line. I'd trade DD but he has chemistry with Pacioretty and Winnipeg would probably rather Plekanec. What about Plekanec, a top prospect & a 1st for Kane?
2.) They could likely flip Tokarski for a decent return. And for good value bc he's being traded on the strength of a good playoff run (and decent AHL #s) and nothing else.

7. CAR: Kasperi Kapanen, RW, KalPa (SM-liiga)

1.) Doubt Nylander goes #3 and Dal Colle drops to #8.
2.) So the Oilers, who are lacking in C depth, pass up on one of the 3 strong centermen available in this draft to instead pick up a winger that they don't need? Are you sideways? I guarantee that if they retain the pick it will be used on one of 4 players: Ekblad, Reinhart, Bennett, or Draisaitl (depending on who is available). Odds are it'll be Draisaitl.

6.) Jake Virtanen will go to Vancouver I can tell you that. Jim Benning thinks very highly of this kid.
7.) Virtanen is going to be a player you have to play with an outstanding playmaker in order to reach his potential. At 6th pick he would be a waste, IMO but that doesn't mean anything, obviously.
8.) I would like to see Richie get picked by vancouver.
9.) Watch Toronto trade there pick
