A little bit of an overreaction there. The Jets fans here as well as the rumours we know about have all been standard TDL rental offers. Rentals don't get top prospects in return and the Jets aren't willing to overpay. That's all.

Will they have the cap space for Laine, Connor, Trouba and Myers new deals at the end of the season? Maybe they decide to go after one of the big names at the deadline. If they do it’s going to cost a fairly big price I’d imagine. I’m with the jets fans in the fact I’d hate to give up promising prospects for rentals but if they feel this is there year why wouldn’t they go for it.

So that's kappy Lilly and the first for petro you give up timishov and a pick to include zaitsev cap dump. Blues have 4 contracts they can take on but no one likes to be right at 50 so leafs take Nolan who can be the extra forward and slide in on the 4th line when they play the heavy teams.
Blues get to keep the younger dman and petro gets to move to a contender and would help tor a lot

Vb everyone knows Karlsson trade was horrible. Ottawa messed that up and a big part of that was insisting on moving him west. Petro also has another season in his contract. Just because Karlsson got a bad return doesn’t mean everyone else will too.

It wasn’t a bad return tho they tried to trade him for months and that’s the best offer they got. You can use a Dougie Hamilton Propsal as a base 1st and 2 2nds but he was a 21 year old RFA. Keith Yandel And Karlsson are the closest comparisons.

The situations are completely different. It's been stated several times. I will go ahead and lay them out for you again.
1) blues are willing to resign petro to a deal. Ott was not willing to pay karlson next contract.
2) Dorian is an idiot, Armstrong is not.
3) petro is loved here and his wife is from stl they just had trips. He would sign a friendlier contract to not uproot his family.
Karlson stated he wanted money and wanted out if ott in regards to Mike Hoffman situation.
To sum it up. Blues do not need to trade him, are not in a position to deal or lose. Stl is willing to resign. So if he is traded it will be for a high return or just keep him. The rhetoric on this board that he ha s to be traded and get a karlson return is ridiculous. In the same breath I could state the hall for Larson return. So by that deal Mathews should be coming back.
Disclaimer- I was in no way stating that Mathews and petro are realistic. I a m using him as an example.

Haha Rambos vote of approval should be all we need. It wasn’t the best offer for Karlsson they bungled that situation. Even if it was (I have a real hard time believing Tampa and Toronto didn’t offer significantly more) they were in a position where they HAD to trade Karlsson, stated they had to trade him, and then artificially limited his market. On top of that he stated his intent to test the market and not resign with the acquiring team and was in the last year of his deal.
