Curious on what Philipp Grubauer's trade value is since the goalie market is so cheap right now.

Van: conditional 2nd 2019, 5th 2018
Wsh: Grubauer

Not sure what some realistic performance conditions are.
45 games or else it's a 3rd?

Could also see him as a good fit in Philly as a 1a/1b combo with neuvirth

thoughts?

No, Keep draft picks. Rather sign a Kuemper, Kinkaid or a Berube rather than giving up a second round pick for a back up.

TB: Drouin, Carle
VAN: Hamhuis 50% retained, McCann, Hansen

Not sure if this works with the cap.

Thoughts?

1.) 29 Feb 2016 02:00:58
Hell no from Vancouver. That's a big over payment. Defs would not be sending both Hansen and McCann unless we're getting a good draft pick back.

2.) 29 Feb 2016 02:24:55
To much Carle is making 5.5 million. Tampa should retain on Carle and Canucks don't retain on hamhuis.

3.) 29 Feb 2016 05:14:26
Perkay15 Carle makes 4.5 million.

4.) 29 Feb 2016 05:46:37
Nope, Carle makes 5.5 and cap hit is 5.5

5.) 29 Feb 2016 12:03:11
Can't see tampa retaining too much on Carle. Buyout cap hit is 1.8 so won't retain more than that I'm sure.

Canucks Offseason:

Draft:

Vancouver: Higgins
Carolina: 2015 3rd (66)

Gives a younger player like Sven or Jensen to crack the lineup and it sounds like Carolina is going to try to make the playoffs next year (doubt it), so Higgins would provide some much needed secondary scoring.

Vancouver: Bieksa
Colorado: 2015 4th (101) and 2016 5th or 2015 3rd (71)

Not sure if Bieksa could get a higher 3rd given his play this year, but this gives Colorado a needed boost on defense and gives a chance for Corrado or Clendening to make the Canucks.

Vancouver: Miller
San Jose: 2015 2nd (39)

San Jose gets a #1 goalie with Niemi leaving as a free agent. Eddie Lack has shown that he can be a #1 goalie and this will give Marky some playing time.
Not really sure what Miller's value is because of his contract (6 mil for 2 more
years).

13.1 million off the books.

Qualifying offer to all rfa's except McMilan and Friesen

Sign Richardson for 2 years at 2 mil

Sign Cal O'Reilly, Biega and Defazio

Free Agency:

Try to sign Mike Green for 2 years at 6 mil

I know I traded Bieksa so a prospect could get a roster spot, but the Canucks really lack a offensive D man, so if the Canucks have a chance to sign him I think they should.

Sign Skille 1 year 1 mil

Sign O'Conner to a entry level contract

Lineup:

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
Sven/Vey-Horvat-Vrbata
Sven/Vey-Bonino-Burrows
Dorsett-Richardson-Hansen

Extras: Kenins/Skille

Edler-Tanev
Hamhuis-Green
Sbisa-Corrado

Extras: Stanton/Weber

Lack
Markstrom

Extras: O'Conner/Eriksson

-Lineups can be changed easily

-Not a fan of having Vey or Sven playing with Bo in the top 6, but i'm not really sure how to fit both in the lineup

Could probably get more for Bieksa and retain salary for Miller you could probably get more as well

2.) 02 May 2015 23:10:37
I think I was trying to hard to not be biased towards the Canucks :P

3.) 23 May 2015 09:38:54
I love the Miller idea, but it would only be a temporary fix, assuming we have another goood backup. Isn't Miller like 35 now?

Canucks could try to sign Green, maybe a top 9 FWD, seems like when they lost Kesler, it took a bit of the edge away from them. Refresh my mind, what was the trade for Kesler?

And also I wouldn't mind Kesler on Sharks :)

I think that Joe Thornton would be a great fit with the Capitals and the Rangers.

57 points in 64 games (44 assists)
Cap hit is $6.75 million for 2 more years
He is 35 years old (36 at the start of next season)

Rangers will only be cup contenders for a couple more seasons and Joe would create a great 1-2 punch of him and Stephan, and he would be a great center for Nash (both 6 foot 4 per HockeyDB)

Washington is wasting Ovie's best years and just imagine a PP of Ovie, Backstrom, Green, Thornton, and Carlson/ Johansson/ Kuznetsov.

What would it take to get him? (probably some $ kept on San Jose's part)

Nucker11

1.) 17 Mar 2015 00:37:22
Idk about Washington, but NYR would have to have SJ retain salary. Plus, we cannot afford to give up any more 1st round picks, we haven't had a 1st since 2012 and won't have one until 2017. We also aren't in the position to give up a roster player as we are going for the cup, so not sure what we would have to offer. If Yandle with 50% retained cost us a 1st+ a roster player+ an A+ prospect, I don't know if we have what it takes to acquire Thornton

CBJ: Johanson, 2015 3rd

VAN: Horvat, Bonino, Jensen, 2015 2nd

Please give feedback :D

Nucker11

1.) That's definitly enough in my opinion but why not give Bonino a shot before trading him?

2.) Cory Schneider would be technically traded for 1/3 of Johansen. But I can see it happening

3.) Way to much. I like horvat. He was compared to Patrice Bergeron

4.) Johansson had one good season. I wouldn't give up that much for him

5.) 29 Sep 2014 19:25:06
Vancouver gives up to much. We can just wait till Johanson becomes a free agent and signs with his home town.

6.) Change Horvat for Gaunce and take out both picks.

Real trade:

Pens: Sutter, 3rd
Nucks: Bonino, clendenning, 2nd

Bonino=Sutter (Bonino is way cheaper)
2nd>3rd
Clendenning>nothing

I fine with getting Sutter, but wtf did the canucks have to give up so much more??

I guess JB is banking on Sutter realizing his potential in Vancouver.

Nucker11

1.) 28 Jul 2015 18:36:41
Or the Canucks, really, really want Austin Matthews.

my projected bottom 3

NJ
ARZ
TOR

no particular order. I would say the Canucks will pick like 7, or 8th overall.
imo.

2.) 28 Jul 2015 19:04:33
The Canucks didn't give up a whole lot also the Penguins didn't down grade a whole lot but if Sutter is given a bigger role he'll breakout

3.) 29 Jul 2015 01:32:27
Agree with @Oilers_11. But yes more then likely yes Canucks will get a top 10 pick. (I hope)

4.) 29 Jul 2015 05:45:05
BJ96, McOilers with the first 3 being lottery picks it's anyone's game. But ya don't think they'll do to hot but I also thought that last year so you never know

Vancouver Draft Day:

Van: Ryan Kesler, Ryan Stanton, 36th overall pick

Ana: Sami Vatanen, 10th and 14th overall pick

Draft: Nikolaj Ehlers (6th)
Hayden Fleury (10th)
Thatcher Demko (24th)

Please give feedback if this is a fair trade and who you would draft.

Nucker11

1.) Meant 24th pick not 14th

@VBisclueless09 I want to hear how good you can make Laine sound by pumping his tires as much as you pump KK's haha.

If hall signs an extension, if not then it's not worth it for Winnipeg.

Marleau only has 1 year left, so that doesn't really affect Van to much unless they want to do some big name hunting this offseason.

Pretty sure Zaitsev has a couple more years left than Sutter, so I'm not sure if it's worth 4 or so years of his cap.

@vbbvvbb;Tavares and Hyman are way better linemates than boeser and (input any of the 3-4th liners Vancouver had rotating on that line) .

Obviously Marner is better than Patterson rn, but to say Petterson isn't even a PPG player then say Marner is basically a 100 pt player is disingenuous. Petterson was closer to a PPG (5 pts less) than Marner was to 100pts (6 less) . Plus it was Pettersons ROOKIE season.

Any trade Vancouver would make for Marner would have to be an overpayment and would most likely put back the rebuild.

@Vertius; what made you even bother to post these trade offers?

Have you watched him play? He takes some dumb penalties, but he shows he has skill and is a legitimate 3rd line winger and will only get better as he gets more consistent. To judge him on what he was traded for is unfair, judge him for how he plays

How do you have the Canucks behind the Flames and Oilers ahead of the Sharks?
