No one in the league wanted to pay anything for him at the start of the year though, 2 months ago. It's hardly likely that alright numbers in the AHL warrant anyone giving up more than a 5th and even that's pushing it. Pickard isn't a prospect from NHL 12.

Its a pretty good prospect and a career top 6 defenceman for 30 goal scorer. I don't think Montreal wants to sell now that Price is back, and I don't think Columbus wants to give up their best prospect. While it would work in NHL 18 as the values are similar, it doesn't make sense for the teams.

Gudbranson can get back a lot more than a second. The advanced analytics tell that Guddy is a legit top 4 Shut Down D-man, we've seen what that goes for around the league.
