To Edmonton: Tanev/ Edler (if he waives) with maybe a small +
To Vancouver: RNH
Edm needs big help on D and these men can supply, Van needs future 1st line center. RNH has had some speed bumps a long the way which I feel lowers his value. He has also gotten surpassed big time on the depth in EDM.

He hasn't gotten surpassed by anyone. McDavid isn't playing and Draisaitl is playing quite well but the real test is if he can keep that production up. Anyways Edmonton will not trade him within the division, and Vancouver adds a bigger piece then "a small +" RNH is a 2nd line center with potential to be a number 1. Probably Tanev+ Horvat with maybe more added.

Pass from Vancouver. The Nugget isn't worth giving up a top pairing D man when the Canucks lack depth there. The package Detroit was giving for Edler in 2013 was better than Nuggett.

The only way Van adds is if it is top 3 protected. Jones is a proven Defence but not proven to be able to handle the load of #1. Matthews > Jones any day. Vancouver is likely to finish 25-30 which means a high chance at top3 and even better at top5. Nashville needs to get rid of 1 of Jones, Josi, Weber. Weber is hard to trade due to his cap hit until he is 43. Josi's contract is the best in the league for what he brings. This leaves Jones the odd man out. Tanev is a proven t4 and has a good contract for 5 more years. Jones and Forsberg will likely be 6+ each next year and Nasville will have around 15 mil to spend (roughly 12 going to 2 players) . GL getting your #1 centre now.

99% of what you said is inaccurate. They have no desire to trade Jones, Josi or Weber right now. Nashville's GM said in an interview that they have no intentions of moving any of their three best defenders. They only way they'd listen is if you are offering a proven top line center. Jones will be a top 5 defender in this league in a year or two. Jones and Josi is what they will build off of, not grossly downgrade on defense and get an unproven prospect. Just dumb. The pick may be Auston Matthews but that isn't set in stone. As soon as that pick drops below 1st overall it's not worth it one bit for Nashville. Only worth it for Vancouver, but of course that's all you thought about.

So your saying that they will guarantee do what they say, invest 20mil in 3 defenders and have no cap room for a #1 centre for the next several years? I doubt it. Jones will be dealt sooner rather than later unless he takes a bridge 3mil contract (forsberg would need to as well)

Not enough for hamonic, as a canucks fan I'd love this trade but not enough, throw a pick in and maybe I could see it. Vrbata could fetch a late first rounder IMO but maybe a 2nd depending on the team. I like the Hamhuis trade, Jim Benning would too seeing how he loves giving our team to Anahiem but I could see hamhuis going to Washington, New York Rangers, Pittsburg, and Montreal.
