So I saw the trade, Kessel for Sharp, 1st, 2nd since the cap doesn't work I propose

Tor:
Kessel

Chi:
Sharp
Bickell
1st 2016
2nd 2016

Chi gets 1.9 mil in cap. Toronto can then flip sharp for picks/prospects, bickell I would say has negative value because of his contract but with a full rebuild in the midst toronto could retain some salary and flip Bickell for a pick

TradeCentre

1.) 01 Mar 2015 18:31:40
IMO Sharp isn't much worse. At least not a 1st, 2nd and Bickell.

2.) 01 Mar 2015 18:40:39
vessel won't get you that

3.) I see where you're coming from but Kessel was originally traded for 2 top 10 1st and a top 10 second. Those picks have much more value than a late first and second. Sharp is good yes, but he's out of his prime while Kessel is entering his and having Kane toews and Kessel in their prime at the same time will be insane

4.) Leafs say no bickell sucks. and sharp is as good as jvr and a lw so no from both ttaems

Tor:
Kessel

Nsh:
Smith
Fiala
2015 1st

Then

Tor:
Phaneuf
2015 1st (Nsh)

Nyi:
Reinhart

TradeCentre

1.) No thank you from toronto that 2015 1st is like a high 2nd so no thank you

2.) DAWSON67 if you follow their post, they want to flip the pick anyways so it turns out to be

Kessel
Phaneuf

for

Smith
Fiala
Reinhart

if ANYTHING Isles say no and Nsh probably flat out won't pay that price for a 1 dimensional player.

3.) I like the kessel trade maybe another prospect added there if I'm trading doing to the islanders I'm starting with I want Reinhart and baily

Slight tank by Ottawa,

Ott: Anderson, Weircioch
Dal: Nichuskin, Lindback

Dallas is in win now mode right now since Spezza isn't getting any younger and Lehtonen just isn't getting the job done. Andy has been playing great for the sens but he's keeping us in too many games so Ottawa gets a solid top 6 winger and a back up goalie for now.

TradeCentre

1.) Terrible for Dallas.

2.) Lehtonen has a 1.50 GAA over the past 10 games and has been getting the job done just fine. The defence in front has been shaky at best on the best of nights. no hushing isn't leaving. No go on Dallas, don't need a shaky Andersen.

3.) 04 Jan 2015 23:58:29
Shaky? Dallas would be lucky to get a significant upgrade in Craig Anderson. and I'm not even a Sens fan.

12 Dec 2014 02:01:28
Ott: Legwand, Weircioch, 3rd
Edm: Yakupov

Fills Ottawa's need for a top 6 forward. Edmonton gets their 2nd line centre (for now), a young promising defenseman and a pick.

TradeCentre

1.) Legwand isn't a 2nd line center, even on Edmonton.

2.) 12 Dec 2014 07:46:02
Legwand isn't a 2nd line centre. On Edmonton he WOULD be. Edmonton still doesn't do this trade though.

09 Dec 2014 20:38:18
Ott: Craig Anderson, Marc Methot
Dal: Valeri Nichushkin, 2nd 2016

TradeCentre

1.) 09 Dec 2014 23:15:41
Dallas adds. Big.

2.) Dallas does not need to add that high of a pick. Nichushkin's ceiling is very high and Dallas does not need to move him.

Anderson is not a addition Dallas would need either. They have Lehtonen already, and Jack Campbell down the line.

Dallas declines. Not that Ottawa isn't giving up valuable pieces and Methot would definitely be one for Dallas, the do not need Anderson and do not need to trade Nichushkin.

I think one thing people don't take into account here is that teams cannot just be stacked with offensive players, they need defense as well. Like you can't trade for Perron and then put him on the 3rd line because your third line should be a defensive line and your 4th an energy line while you get your offence from the top 6 so it isn't worth it to trade several key pieces in your defensive game for a single offensive player

Anderson gets locked up for another 3 years with a cap hit of 4.2mil, Sens just have 2 more important future ufas to sign

TradeCentre

1.) It also makes Anderson easier to trade (Reasonable cap hit with some term), which I could see them doing if Lehner takes the next step.

2.) And if he can get back into the form he was season before last he could be very valuable trade bait

Clarke MacArthur signs a 5 year extension with a cap hit of 4.65mil. What does that mean for Bobby Ryan?

TradeCentre

1.) Could really mean anything you want. Could be good could be bad. If Ryan gets signed it now means that there line will be together potentially for 3 or more years after this one. They looked really good this past season until Ryan was hurting badly from a near season long injury.
Ryan will probably get 7-7.5m AAV from the sens if resigned and would easily fit under the cap, either Melnyk spends that much could be another question entirely.
For the MacArthur deal, I think it's a very fair deal. Locks up his 29-34 (?) years for a reasonable 4. 65m AAV. And with a rising cap or even a cap the way it is now, a second or first line player that is strong defensively and plays the PP and PK for less than 5m is good. It stays good if he maintains his 40-60 point kind of production and he doesn't slow down too much.

2.) Very true, I'm really hoping that Ryan stays so they can keep that line together. If Ryan can stay healthy I think they could be a dominant line that provides a lot of experience for the youngsters

3.) 23 Aug 2014 04:23:01
He's leaving for the pens

I like it but a goalie would have to go back to Ottawa

So Tampa gives up the two superior not to mention you gets players and a pick for 5 mil in cap space? Doesn't make sense Tampa, just makes them worse

So Detroit won't give up Mantha in a trade for Myers but they would for Gardiner? Makes sense to me

1. In what world does Budaj fetch you a 2nd?
2. Acquiring Thornton in no way helps the log jam at centre even if you move Plecky.
3. Why sign Brodeur when Tokarski could be a quality back up and could use the experience?

I think Rick DiPietro has to at least be in the conversation

In an expansion draft you don't choose who to leave unprotected but really who to protect so you can protect either 1 G, 5 D and 9 F or 2 G, 3 D and 7 F. I also believe that if the player has not played in 40 games in the past season or 70 in the past two they are not eligible for the expansion draft.

I think with MacArthur now locked in that he gets the C in Ottawa. He's a skilled winger with lots of experience and leadership qualities
