i would think arizona says no. They don't have very many solid defenceman on their team and they don't have very many good prospects coming up. They have a lot more promising forward prospects coming in the next couple of years (Domi, Duclair, Perlini, Dvorak). Also Hall already has a lengthy injury history which I think arizona would want to avoid.

On a side note if arizona doesn't get the first or second pick I wonder if they would take marner at number three to keep the junior line of Domi, Marner, and Dvorak together. Probably not but it would be cool.

Arizona adds.

Are you kidding me? They have connor murphy and brandon gormely in their system which they are all d man propects and project to be a top 4 d man and top 2 d man at best very soon. they have other promising d prospects like klas dahlbak and philip samuelsson. I/n other words they have good d prospects coming up. Not saying they should trade OEL but I am trying to say is that you are wrong about Zrizona not having solid d man,

4.) 27 Mar 2015 13:06:06
I agree with tmleafs Arizona has a lot of depth at forward and not much on defence.
I would keep OEL at this point

5.) 27 Mar 2015 17:11:13
No from Arizona as OEL>Hall. I personally value a stud defenceman more than a stud forward. Edmonton needs OEL more than Arizona needs Hall.

6.) 27 Mar 2015 21:11:29
@Eazy E - I agree. but Arizona could move OEL however, as he is coming into his prime, is expensive @$5.5M(they have a pretty small budget), and would bring in some assets to assist in the re-build.

By the time that Arizona is ready to compete, OEL is going to be a pending UFA - does it make sense to keep him while rebuilding?

7.) 28 Mar 2015 00:05:13
@mbell
OEL is the perfect player to build around in my mind. He is only 23 so even if the rebuild takes five years he would still be in his prime and would have a lot of good years ahead of him. Either then a franchise centerman or maybe a stud goalie I think a defenceman like OEL is the hardest thing to find. As for your budget comment OEL is probably the biggest bargain on that team. Paying 5.5 for an allstar first pairing dman is a steal. They will probably get either eichel or mcdavid in the draft so why not build around OEL, Domi, Eichel/mcdavid, duclair if they do that they would have one of the most promising young rosters.

8.) 28 Mar 2015 00:18:39
You make no sense @mbell
Taylor hall age 23 nov/14/1991
6.0 million cap hit
OEL age 23 July/17/1991
5.5 million cap hit.
You really are edmontonsfinest
OEL stays period.
Arizona wants/needs him

boston:

-chara

anaheim:

-Fowler
-Silfverberg

bezz

1.) I know he's not the best anymore, but his value has to at least be a little more than that. doesn't it?

2.) Anaheim says no. Easily. They could have Fowler and Silfverberg for the next 10 years. Could have Chara for about 2. Tops.

3.) Oh whoops didn't realize that was Fowler. I get it now. Yeah. ANA says no

4.) ^ Tough call. IMO Chara wouldn't be traded for less.

I guess it depends on whether Anaheim thinks they have a better shot at a cup without Chara than they would with him. BC from my perspective, they don't have anyone that provides the same skill set, even at Chara's age, in the system right now.

5.) All Chara provides right now is the shot. He is slow and gets beat easily.

If Boston wanted this package ANA says no. It might seem like a fair price to Boston, but its too steep for Anaheim.

Montreal:

-2 round pick

New Jersey:

-Jaromir Jagr

bezz

1.) 10 Feb 2015 18:21:18
Probably too high of a price especially if it is for this years draft.

2.) Alot for 3 months of jagr beacause he'll probably retire after this year.

3.) The habs shouldn't trade for jagr because of his age. Even as a Habs fan I'm pretty sure they won't win the cup this year and they need a forward who can fill their need in scoring for at least 2-3 more years

4.) 2nd round in this years draft is too much for a guy who will slot in on the 3rd line

5.) Habs should pass, Jagr too old and slow for playoffs
