Lucic is not a bad player. Yes he's overpaid and all but still if he was paid 3-4 million, at this point in his career he's be considered a good vet to have on a playoff team.

God no from Vancouver. I wouldn't even trade Tanev, our 1st and Gaudette for O'Reilly straight up, and you want us to take Bogosian's contract along with it? Get real.
Gaudette has the potential to be what O'Reilly is just probably not as high of a ceiling. With the current state of the Canucks what we need most right now is to hold onto players like Gaudette and our draft picks, not trade for aging players who will be out of their prime by the time were good enough to contend for the playoffs again.

Yeah NYI move back a lot but they also get into that first tier of the first round and get an additional pick. Pretty interesting trade IMO.

Actual sign and trades don't happen. but other teams know quite often what the player they are trading for wants in his next contract. this is often discussed with the player and among the two teams making the trade. This is why in a lot of cases the newly aquired player signs an extension within a day or two of being traded. this is made easier because most of the negotiating is done by his former team beforehand.
