To Boston: Valeri Nichushkin
Julius Honka
3rd round pick (2016)

To Dallas: Zdeno Chara
Loui Eriksson
Joe Morrow
1st roud pick (2016)
or 2nd round pick (2016)
Maybe add Khokhlachev

Explanation: Dallas get Eriksson and Chara who will give them a better chance to win the cup, Joe Morrow who is a good puck moving that can help them in a few years and picks to select prospects that will help them to fill the spot let by Nichushkin an Honka.

Boston get Nichushkin who will replace Eriksson. He is younger and is a cheap player that will accelerate the "rebuild" of the Bruins. They also get Honka who is RHD who will help Bruins offense in few years. Bruins were looking to Vatanen, but it will cost them too much so Honka could be solution, playing the same style as Vatanen.

Thoughts?

Character is no longer elite or great and he is fading from good to bottom pairing. Unfortunately being a giant and aging is bring his career to an end. Great career though.

2.) 14 Feb 2016 04:08:18
If you think Chara is a (or even close) to being a bottom pair defenceman then you need to watch some more bruins games. Either way IMO this would be a off-season move rather than deadline.

3.) 14 Feb 2016 04:37:04
I watch all games. He is a fraction of the player he use to be. He is big slow his point production has fallen and we have better younger dmen. Don't need him.

4.) 14 Feb 2016 08:54:07
He is the leader of the time, can still play against top lines and considering his age his production is fine. Obviously he won't be as good as he was, nobody is as good as they ere in their young days (except jagr) if we trade him our playoff hope are non-existent, so, yes we do need him.

To Bruins: B.Schenn, A.McDonald (1 million
retain)

To Flyers: Loui Eriksson, 2nd round pick 2016,
B.Ferlin, **4th round pick

** If B.Schenn resigns with Bruins

Bruins get a top 4 defensman to help the Bruins with the injurie of Seidenberg and Chara. Bruins also get B.Schenn, a center who can play left wing and who can replace the production of Eriksson.

Flyers get L.Eriksson, a two way player who can play on the first line with Giroux and Voracek, B.Ferlin a cheap depth forward for the 4th line and two round pick to add some prospects on their roster.

lol what kind of condition is that? schenn will be a rfa, so regardless if he signs or not he'll still be property of the team.

anyways, stil can't see the trade happening. BOS doesn't want another overpaid and underforming defenceman (macdonald), and I can't imagine PHI would take eriksson and a 2nd for schenn.

To Boston: Ryan Ellis
Austin Watson

To Nashville: Loui Eriksson
2nd round pick (2016)
2nd round pick (2017)

The Bruins aquire a two way defensman who can score 35+ points and who have a cheap contract (2.5 millions for 4 next years). They also got Watson (6'4', 203 lbs)

The Preds aquire a top first line winger to improve the offensive and 2 2nd round pick to select good propects. The Preds doesn't really need Ryan Ellis because they have Weber and Jones as their right handed defensman.

Bruins cap space after this trade: 6.25 millions

Bruins sign Franson 3 years, 4.75 millions/y

After doing this trade, the Bruins need to replace Eriksson on the left wing. They can either sign Glencross for 1 year, 1.25 millions/y or make a package deal for Boedker:

To Bruins: Mikkel Boedker

To Arizona: Chris Kelly
Austin Watson
Zach Trotman
*3rd round pick (2017)
3rd round pick (2016)
4th round pick (2017)

*If Boedker score more than 50 points

The Bruins aquire a fast left winger who can replace Eriksson.

The Coyotes aquire a leader and good defensive player in Kelly, a big and physical guy for the futur in Austin Watson, a RHD NHL ready in Trotman and picks.

Bruins cap space after these two trades: 0.75 millions

Bruins lineup next season

Marchand-Bergeron-Hayes
Boedker-Krejci-Pastrnak
Beleskey-Spooner-Connolly
Talbot-Kemppainen-Rinaldo

Ex: Ferlin

Chara-Franson
Seidenberg-Ellis
Krug-McQuaid

Ex: Irwin

Rask
McIntyre

Austin Watson is worth almost nothing now, sadly.

Ryan Ellis is a good top 4.

But I would rather have boston keep Eriksson and the picks.

2.) 28 Aug 2015 10:00:28
Watson is a forward not a defensemen

3.) 28 Aug 2015 12:44:07
given the time of year 4.75M/yr is probably a little more than you need to give for Franson. I would also put ellis with Chara so there's some speed on that line. franson and chara would be a little slow.

4.) 28 Aug 2015 14:56:56
@Leafland I never say Watson was a defensman

5.) 28 Aug 2015 21:15:10
Eriksson isn't a first line forward?

10 Aug 2015 13:02:57
The Bruins needs some cap space to add a top 4 RHD. So how about these trades:

To St.Louis: D.Krejci

To Boston: D.Backes, 3rd round pick

= = = = = = = = == = = = = = = = = = = =

To Arizona: D.Seidenberg

To Boston: 2nd round pick

== = = = = = = = = = = = = = == = = = =

To Winnipeg: Throtman, Kelly, 1st round pick 2016 (BOS) and 3rd round pick 2016

To Boston: D.Byfuglien

Bruins sign Franson 4.5M/Y for 3Y

Bruins Lineup next season:

Marchand-Bergeron-Hayes
Beleskey-Backes-Connolly
Eriksson-Spooner-Pastrnak
Ferlin-Talbot-Rinaldo

Chara-Byfuglien
Krug-Franson
Irwin-McQuaid

Rask
McIntyre

Are these trades realistic?

1.) 10 Aug 2015 15:26:20
No from Boston on the first one

2.) 10 Aug 2015 15:30:03
Blues say no. They will either keep backes or trade him for younger talent

3.) 10 Aug 2015 15:45:11
With these trades the Bruins still have 3M to add a backup goalkeeper and a better player than Ferlin on the 4th line

4.) 10 Aug 2015 15:55:57
I'd rather keep krejci, He is our best offensive forward right now and he's proven in the playoffs. I would do the other trades in a heartbeat though

5.) 10 Aug 2015 20:08:24
That's way too high of a 2nd for Seidenburg

6.) 11 Aug 2015 05:32:38
No to St. Louis. They'd have to come up bigger than that. Not sure why you'd feel the need to trade Krejci.

7.) 11 Aug 2015 13:13:08
no from noth B's and STL on the 1st. the seidenberg for 2nd rnd pick would be fine. Byfuglien isn't coming to boston. no one wants that train wreck.

8.) 11 Aug 2015 15:02:31
Word, spree of truth! @burnsy613

03 Aug 2015 13:28:13
I see on TSN that it will be impossible for the Jets to resign both Ladd and Byfuglien. So how about this trade: To Boston: Byfuglien (D) . To Winnipeg: Seidenberg (D), J.Morrow (D) and . 1st round pick (Boston one). . . Bruins get a top defensman who can help the Bruins offensive and the Jets get a veteran Dman and Morrow who can be NHL ready in 1-2 years. The first round pick will add some value on the trade. If its not enough, the Bruins can add a late pick like a 4th or a 5th round pick.

1.) 03 Aug 2015 14:46:55
Not bad but it might take 1 more pick/prospect

2.) 03 Aug 2015 18:04:03
Add a better prospect then Morrow and add a late draft pick and it's a deal.

What a bad trade for Winnipeg. Trouba alone is worth more than Schultz and a 2nd. If Edmondon want to bring on Trouba and Pavelec, it will cost them Schultz, a 1st and a C or B prospect if it, s not more than that.

I don't understand the first round pick. Vanek is a little bit better than JVR but JVR is younger than Vanek so a think a trade Vanek for JVR alone is pretty equal
