Time for Yzerman to get prepared for his playoff run.

TB Brodeur and Jagr (50% Brodeur contract retained)
NJ Lindback, Crombeen, 2nd rd pick 2015 and conditional pick (If TB makes it to conference finals 1st rd pick 2014 but if they do not 2nd rd pick 2014)

Now I would like to see Brodeur and Jagr in the playoffs again. I would think a team like TB who needs a playoff experienced goalie should go after Brodeur

hockeyfan89

1.) Maybe make it 2nd if they make it and 3rd if not

2.) I like the idea of TB getting another goalie. not sure Brodeur is the right answer

3.) The Kolzig in Tampa experiment failed. I would hate to see Marty retire the same way.

4.) Brodeur not leaving jersey

I usually see the same teams posted on here for trades. so let's mix it up

CAR Havlat
SJ Ruutu

I have not really watched them play lately. but both teams would like to unload them. I think the value is pretty close. Ruutu has played on the wing before. cap is close if I remember correctly. both 5mil range

Bold moves MacT should think about in my opinion.

Gagner 4.8mil (retain 2.4mil) to CHI for Pirri 618K, Kruger 1. 33mil and a 3rd rd pick (conditional if Hawks make it to CONF FINAL)

Eberle 6mil to CLB for Gaborik 7.5mil, Letesu 1. 25mil and 2nd rd pick (plus a 2nd rd pick from next year if Gaborik does not resign)

Hemsky 5mil and Petry 1. 75mil (plus 2nd if Girardi resigns) to NYR for Girardi 3. 33mil and Boyle 1. 7

Smyth 2. 25mil and Acrobello 600K to ANA for Winnik 1.8mil, Sbisa 2. 18mil and a 5th rd pick

Perron 3. 81mil to NJ for Volchenkov 4. 25mil and a 3rd rd pick

***
Gagner played well with Kane before. Hawks have some nice prospects they can part with

CLB will need someone to replace Gaborik. EDM likes bulky contracts

If EDM can keep Girardi than they can solve some of their D problems. Hemsky can give NYR a scoring punch for playoff push

Smyth can help with OFF and DEF for ANA playoff run. Acrobello will add depth for playoffs. Sbisa may find a spark with a lot of ice time in EDM.

I think Perron will look nice in NJ. Volchenkov will mentor the young D corps

hockeyfan89

1.) NJ and Columbus trades are horrible

2.) Rangers don't want Hemsky. not enough of a price for Girardi

Calgary

Cammalleri 6mil, Glencross 2. 55mil, Cundari 600K to ANA for Winnik 1.8mil, Fasth 2.9mil, Sbisa 2. 18mil, 2nd rd pick and 3rd rd pick

Stepniak 2.5mil and Backlund 1.5mil to CAR for Ruutu 4. 75mil, Palushaj 600K, 2nd rd pick and a 3rd rd pick

Wideman 5. 25mil, Galiardi 1. 25mil to Erat 4.5mil, Neuvirth 2.5mil and Kundratek 550K

Butler 1.7mil to NYI for Boulton 550K and Martinek 600K

*Glencross will replace Winnik Cammalleri will put ANA over the top against WEST powerhouse teams
CAR gets rid of Ruutus contract and get two reliable replacements to help for a playoff push
WAS gets rid of 2 guys who want out and get Wideman to fill in if they trade Green
NYI picks up anybody

**Winnik can help CAL to replace Glencross. Fasth is more stable than their current goalies and Sbisa needs a new team.
Ruutu needs a change and CAL will need some potential offense from somewhere
Neuvirth and Fasth can battle for the net as a Kipper replacement. Erat may help with some offense
Boulton is a Burke type of player

thoughts?

hockeyfan89

1.) We should keep Glencross. Good leader, I thought he should've been captain but Gio has done a great job. And I'd decline that ANA trade.

Do we really need Ruutu, awful contract.

Also Erat, bad contract. Don't need Neuvrith. Jon Gillies.

2.) Personally i'm not sure you can get any picks in the Car-Cgy trade

Buffalo

Moulson 3. 13mil to NJ for Loktionov 725K, Fayne 1.3mil and a 2nd rd pick

Ott 2. 95mil (1mil retained)to CHI for Kruger 1. 33mil and 2nd rd pick

Miller 6. 25mil to MIN for Kuemper 777K, Zucker 772K, Spurgeon 2. 67mil and a 1st rd pick

Stafford 4mil to LA Lewis 1. 33mil and Greene 2. 96mil

Ehrhoff 4mil to DET for Quincey 3. 78mil

Tallinder 3. 38 to (880K retained) to BOS for Bartkowski 650K

*NJ needs an extra scoring punch for a playoff push
CHI wants an upgrade for number 2 center
MIN lost Harding long term to injury
LA wants a winger
DET wants to move Quincey
BOS needs experienced Dman for playoffs

**Moulson will be FA so they get some value back. Maybe Loktionov produces in Buffalo
Kruger is a good replacement for Ott with a pick
Zucker and Kuemper have some nice potential and a pick to top it all off
Stafford lost his touch in Buffalo so time to switch him out salary for salary
Bartkowski might have better chance for play time in Buffalo than Boston

Thoughts?

hockeyfan89

1.) Minnesota doesn't need another goalie. If anything miller will go to Calgary or islanders.

2.) Seems like too much for Moulson. I can't see any team willing to give up three assets for a rental, even if a bidding war ensues.

I don't know enough about Kruger, but maybe that one goes through. Maybe.

Giving up Kuemper for Miller would leave the Wild with only one healthy goalie with NHL experience. It'd be a short-term problem, presumably, but a problem nonetheless. Also, I think Buffalo could only get Zucker OR Spurgeon, not both along with Kuemper and a 1st.

Stafford isn't going to fetch ANY two NHL players. I don't think he has much, if any, trade value. and this is coming from a Sabres fan.

Why would Buffalo want Quincey? And why give up Ehrhoff to get him? This one makes no sense.

Tallinder for Bartkowski adds more youth to the Buffalo D corps, so that's good I suppose. Not sure if it's a deal Boston would want to make though.

3.) Miller will not go to CAL or MIN. CAL is rebuilding as well. No need to give up assets for Miller if you can not make the playoffs. Islanders do not have what it takes to get Miller

Loktionov is struggling in NJ. Maybe the pick is conditional upon Moulson resigning. I tried to balance cap with MIN. And MIN likes to go all out on their American players. I heard LA wants to get rid of Greene contract. Quincey and Ehrhoff need a new team. Quincey with Myers could be good for rebuild. Tallinder may be the cheapest and easiest to get for BOS.

4.) Well you certainly traded all of the buffalo players who can help other teams, I think you have them going to the wrong teams.

Moulson is a better fit in LA. Quick and Moulson are married to sisters and LA once drafted Moulson

Ott and Ehrhoff are better fitted to Detroit who is getting older and needs to win now. They are interested with obtaining Ott and need a defenseman.

Miller St Louis is very interested to give them a top goal tender.

Stafford and Tallinder go to Pittsburgh as mentioned in a trade above.

5.) I would take Quincey for Erhoff if Sabres retained some Salary to even out the cap space between the two players so its basically two players who need scenery change at same cap hit. Plus detroit can't take cap.

There is a salary cap if you have forgotten. Do not think Habs would pay that money to Spezza

Subban can get them a better deal elsewhere. Subban will take more than 6 million is Phaneuf got more. If Macdonald wants 5.5 million than Subban should get at least 7.5million

If you Habs fans say you need to trade Hall Nurse++ for Subban than you need to trade more than that package for Hall. Hall is valued to EDM as much as Subban is to MTL. You will not have enough room to sign those FAs.

You Habs fans should know your team used their 2 compliance buyouts. No team will buyout a player unless it is compliance.
