NYI trade: Josh Bailey
to FLA: Scottie Upshall
FLA can add more young depth at the forward position, while the NYI can only have 1 more year left on Upshall's contract also at about $3.3MM cap hit to clear cap space next year when Bailey still has 3 years left.

1.) Way too much for a borderline NHL player (Batowski) and an UFA to be who probably won't resign (Boychuk).
Boston fans need to stop overvaluing Bartkowski, he has played a little less than a season of NHL Hockey and is 26 so he is not a prospect anymore. Nothing more than a 3rd pairing, maybe 7th d-man.

I agree with you, however islanders need to win this year with no 1st round pick. Drop the 2nd from isle and I could see it going through with maybe a bit more minor tweeking

what assets should the NY Islanders trade for a #2 or #3 defensive defensmen or two?
1.) Centers probably Nielson or maybe Nelson
2.) Reinhart is probably going to play next year so could be your #2 or 3 defenseman.
3.) Better question would be what defenseman should they or could they trade for. free agents like jamie mcbain or henrik tallinder would help too maybe. I believe the islanders have like 26 players under contract i'm not sure how many are 2 way deals so if they were to sign anyone else they would probably have to work the waiver wire a little. so trade would be a better option but who are the top 2 or 3 dmen available?johnny oduya, johnny boychuck?
4.) Bailey, nelson, collberg, dal collie, pulock or pokka, but not both

6.) Strome. he could be a valuable trading asset
I agree. as a NYI fan, I think that would work. what do you think in adding Strait rather than Donovan? Strait probably has more value (not buch) but has played half the year and Donovan hasn't played since pre-season.
As much as I would love the NYI to make that trade, they would need to add a more valuable asset or A. Lee type player for AZ to consider the trade.
@Warrior24 I completely agree with you 100%, I would love to see if they would try and get Muzzin out of LAK. don't know what they would need to offer.
I agree. even if they package Mayfield, Pelech, etc. since they have so many defensive prospects to get a top 4 defensman or 2 by including someone else in the deal, maybe even Josh Bailey
I would try and ask for Boedker instead if Hanzel if possible.
