EDM trades:
Yakupov
Scrivens

BUF trades
Miller

jshaw74

1.) I do not think the Sabres would want to take Scrivens, so instead: Nail Yakupov, 2nd 2014 for Ryan Miller. As a Sabre fan I would take this trade.

2.) Buffalo asks "What else are you offering us?"

3.) Actually that is about all Miller will bring, in fact it is a lot. Yakupov could be as good as Nathan MacKinnon and Edmonton's second pick will be almost a first. As a Sabre's fan I would take that trade, what if the Sabres were not able to move Miller and we got Zero. This is much better.

4.) Miller is a UFA and likely going to walk. Yakupov is Edmonton's top prospect (yeah, he's aboe Nurse, Klefbom etc. ). Edmonton would be asking for more (at a minimum a conditional 1st if Miller doesn't sign).

5.) Edmonton doesn't have a 2nd or 3rd round pick in 2014, they traded both away. The 2nd as part of the Perron trade and the 3rd in the Scrivens trade.

6.) How many times does it need to be said: MILLER doesn't WANT TO PLAY FOR EDMONTON OR ANY OTHER CANADIAN TEAM

7.) Miller says no

8.) OK, good point. Miller for yak and conditional second if Miller signs with Edmonton.

9.) Hey no need to scream, these trades are just for fun. I think it is just an idea of what Miller is worth. Sabre fans need to realize that it is a lot less than they think. Yak would a lot to get in return, that is all.

10.) ^ the conditional pick goes the other way. Edmonton is giving up the future consideration in this trade - Miller may not even re-sign. I don't even know if they would do a Miller (under contract) for Yak straight up.

Remember, Yakupov was drafted 1st overall last year. Edmonton will value him as high as their best players, especially when you compare him to a +30 goal tender who is a UFA.

11.) Miller definitely wouldn't re-sign in Edmonton. You know why? Cause he would never agree to a trade there anyway. You guys are wasting your time.

12.) So Miller and a first for Yak? I do not think so. Yak is playing on the third line right now and his minutes per game keep decreasing. Yes he has potential but he is certainly not what he was last year. Miller on the other hand is much better than he was last year.

13.) A day ago he was on the top line. Which is it?

14.) "He is not what he was last year". You realize the kids twenty and is experiencing a rough patch. The dude has 15 years +++ left in his career

STL Trades:
Halak
Berglund
2nd rd pick

BUF trades:
Miller

If need be make it a first round pick but it would be an overpayment IMO. Sabres fans over value miller at times

jshaw74

1.) Patrik Berglund, 1st rd pick for Ryan Miller. The first pick is #26 the second round is #31. Make it a 1st to make the Sabre fans feel like Murray made a great trade. Trade Halak to Minn, LOL.

2.) IMO, if St. Louis really wants Miller, wait and sign him in FA. They have the core of their team locked up for a few more years. Why give up future for a guy who could walk.

3.) If Miller does get traded, I think he will go to Minnesota probably in a multi team deal involving Montreal and Detroit:
Matt Ellis to Montreal for Daniel Briere and a 4th
Ryan Miller, Daniel Briere, Mike Weber to Minnesota for Dany Heatley, Jason Zucker, Niklas Backstrom, 1st (17) and 2nd (45) 2014
Dany Heatley (Sabres retain 50% of his salary), to Detroit for Jakub Kindl.
Montreal dumps Briere, Minnesota gets its goal tender and dumps salary, Heatley and Alfredson have a final hurrah.

4.) Buffalo is over a bit of a barrel with Miller. He has to approve a trade and if the only place he will go is Minnesota (bc supposedly that's where he wants to play next), Minnesota isn't going to throw a ton of pieces at Buffalo to get him.

St. Louis is a cup favourite this year with Halak and Elliot - add Miller to the mix and a cup finals is almost guaranteed.

BUF: Elliot, Rattie and a cond. 1st (if they win the cup)

STL: Miller (retains required amount for trade to happen).

5.) STL will not give up rattie for miller

6.) On the Minnesota trade for Miller, the Sabres are really doing the Wild a favor when then take Heatley and Backstrom. Neither of them fit into the Sabres future and the Wild would want to dump their salaries ($3, 416, 667, $7, 500,000) onto the Sabres lap. Briere takes Heatley's spot at half the price, Weber is a depth (insurance) defenseman, and Miller can win games on his own.

You make leaf fans on this site look like nhl analysts.

To Hckfntc:

JVR:
-Listed at 6'3" 200lbs
-30G-31A-61pts
-25 yrs old

Johansen:
-Listed 6'3" 223lbs
-33G-30A-63pts
-21 yrs old

My point is Johansen truly has much more value than JVR. He is bigger, younger, has slick hands, great on ice vision and he IS a #1 center and is much better than any center the leafs have. And he is only going to get better. Not to mention he didn't play on a line with a guy like phil kessel.

Not being biased, not a fan of either team.

The blues lost sobotka today to the khl so no trading berglund for that return would hurt our forward depth even more. wouldn't be a smart move by st. louis
