I'm hearing the Flames have been contacting Colorado for Varlamov:

CGY
6th overall
35th overall

COL
Varlamov
10th overall

THoughts?

Yeah I guess.

2.) 23 Jun 2016 22:05:31
Seems more likely they would acquire Varlamov on his own, then trade down in the process.

3.) 23 Jun 2016 22:15:46
Calgary would kill 2 birds with one stone basically
Flames get a good goalie and they get to a spot to draft keller.

Calgary won't be trading their 6th pick for any goalie. They're better off taking Nylander and waiting for the open market.

Nobody will be trading their pick from 1-6 unless it's a completely outrageous offer that they can't refuse. What they would be giving up for no reason at all is too costly. They only way Edmonton gives up selecting Tkachuk is if someone offers them one of the very best D men in the league for him as well as whatever their first round pick is Edmonton is in the drivers seat

Same with Columbus and Vancouver. the only way you give up puljujarvi is if you get a top 5 forward in the league plus that teams first round pick. It's just not happening. You people need to be more realistic with your trades. Fleury bishop varlemov not one of these goalies are worth 6 over all pick. Calgary isn't the team that may lose these goalies. They can wait.

And by the way Reimer would be the best choice moving forward. He's the least expensive and of all goalies that played over 1500 minutes last season he was the best 5 on 5 .940 goals against average. Do the research people then you might understand.

Why would we 6th overall pick for a goalie who is constantly injured and only had one good season in the league. This is a goalie that we'd be able to get for nothing the moment Colorado finds a new young talent. The only thing this goalies has going for him is his name. varlemov. it's a good name for a goalie. but. nice try.

here's a couple of moves i could see the Calgary Flames making:

Cgy
2nd Round pick (35th overall)
Emile Porier

Pit
Fleury

This trade makes sense because Porier was drafted in the 1st round a few years ago and has some potiential. The penguins wanted our 6th OA pick which would never happen

CGY will sign David Perron to a 3yr 4mil per year deal that will fill the gaping hole they have at right wing.

OR
(this won't happen but i can dream)

CGY
First Round pick (6th Overall)
Second Round Picl (35th Overall)
Third Round Pick (66th Overall)

TBL
Bishop
Drouin

Thoughts on all 3?

Calgary adds on the 3rd maybe Kylington, Wotherspoon.

2.) 23 Jun 2016 02:25:04
3rd isn't enough. I wouldn't give Bishop and Drouin for that. I don't think Drouin gets traded anyway they need some forwards when Stamkos goes.

3.) 23 Jun 2016 02:58:16
Fleury one ain't bad.

4.) 23 Jun 2016 03:24:07
You actually might be able to get Bishop out of Tampa but not Drouin.

5.) 23 Jun 2016 03:24:42
the first one needs a bit more coming from Calgary and I'm not sure about the Drouin/ Bishop trade because Drouin has already rescinded his trade request.

6.) 23 Jun 2016 14:36:36
this doesn't get you Drouin alone, let alone him and bish.

Flames would never do this trade, its not worth giving up such a high draft pick for nothing.
