Wild get the best piece but I don't think they want to give up all that. Hurts their depth chart too much. RNH is the best piece but 3 good ones for a great, a cap dump and a pick isn't worth it. Wild have too much money in 28-32 year olds to trade their depth for picks at this point. Would need NHL players, even if they're role players with RNH.

The only name from Minni Oilers would / should be interested in is Suter. Balance of the team. Can stay in Minni.
Oilers have no 2nd round pick, so pick would have to be a 2018 2nd if that's involved in the Suter trade.

Only deal I would even slightly consider with RNH going to minny would be Nuge+a pick for Dumba and Coyle. Don't think minny would do that though.

He's not a superstar, but a guy with a ton of experience, 60, 54 and 36 points in his last 3 years (missed a few games the last one) on a team where he isn't the go to option is not bad numbers. Not to mention 22 pts in 31 playoff games with the wild. And fits in with the age group of the core. His contract might be a little heavy at 5.6 but it's done when he's 35 and doesn't drag into late 30s or even 40s like some experienced 2 way forwards (Hossa) . I'm saying losing him and the other 2 guys while only RNH is a meaningful piece coming back, they're not immediately a better team. They need to be good today. Suter and parise are at that age.

I also like when guys post a trade for their team, and then when someone says a piece is good, they tear the player down. If he's bad, Why put him in there? If he's bad and overpaid, leave him and fayne out. But I would take an extra year and the extra salary to have pominville on my team over fayne. If his play declines, at least he has experiences of deep playoff runs and time spent playing with great players. Young teams need that. Faynes game peaked in his mid 20s and has been to the playoffs once in a seven year pro career between NHL and AHL.

pominville would bring leadership to a young oiler team while at the same time be a cap dump to offset nuges 6 million.
fayne can do this up coming season what dumba would, so it doesn't make minny worse today. it gives them a legit top 6 player and bottom pair dman and pick for a 3-4 dman, top 9 forward and pominvilles cap.

This could be one of the fairest trades for Trouba yet. The question is would the Jets do this trade as they would still want and need a left shot d-man. The Jets have Schiefele, Little, Perreault, Lowery, Copp, Petan, Burmistrov, Matthias and Howden that can play center. Unless he has a super camp Wpg would send him back to Sarnia as they don't rush young players into the NHL. NJ would have to see if their need for a young 2/ 3 right shot nhl experienced d-man in Trouba trumps Zacha's potential. Good trade but a tough call from both sides.

BDB I think the Jet would like Hamonic from NYI but It would take a great offer to pry him out of NY as he is almost untouchable there. I don't know if the Isles would want prospects or bottom 6 pieces for Hamonic as they want to make a push for the cup now. The Jets wouldn't want to trade anyone from their top 6.

BDB I still don't believe that Chevy will trade Trouba as he has too much upside and is still only 22. I think Trouba is wasted playing with Stuart and would benefit from playing on the left side with Buff or Myres. I'm sure he will be signed to a contract by the end of the Aug. Chevy won't make a rash decision on him.

seeing all these contracts handed out this off season, kadri and reillys contracts look great. pumped up for the season!
it seems to me like 2nd / 3rd tier players are worth 5+ million dollars a season, the wird thing is, seasoned guys hitting ufa age are getting those dollars as well as younger guys hitting RFA are getting those dollars. i guess 40 pts in the nhl gets you 5 million.

as much as loov is decent, greening is a plug, jersey has enough plugs, plus do they even have roster space for 2 guys without taking anything back? if the leafs finish bottom 10 in 2 years, that third is around the 70 range, still decent depedning on your scouts, might not be enough, may add a 5th or something going to jersey.
