Just a couple ideas to gauge interest and to determine value to build the 2015 Sabres

Trade 1)
To TBL: 2015 1st (barring it's 1st overall/ McDavid)

To BUF: Jonathan Drouin, Valteri Filppula, 2-4 draft pick 2015

Trade 2)
To TOR: NYI 1st 2015

To BUF: Cody Franson

Trade 3)
To DET: Tyler Myers

To BUF: Tomas Tatar, Brendan Smith, 2015 1st

Trade 4)
To NJD: Mikhail Grigorenko, STL 1st 2015, Nick Baptiste

To BUF: NJD 2015 1st (Barring it's 4-6 enough to get Strome)

Then trade Mezaros, Stewart, Neuvirth, Hodgson Mitchell for draft picks or possible they could be worked into previous trades

Sign Stafford, Enroth, Franson

BUF's lines next season

Moulson-Filppula-Ennis
Tatar-Girgensons- Stafford
Drouin-Reinhart-Gionta
Flynn-McCormack- Deslaurier

Gorges-Franson
Zadorov-Risto
Smith-Pysyk

Enroth
Hackett

Let me know what you guys think I believe they help all parties and are fair value if not please explain.

sabres14

1.) You traded filppula then inserted him at 1C.

IMO too much for myers. tatars great right now, what's myers.

2.) 24 Jan 2015 08:17:28
Too much for Franson and Drouin would definitely be top6.

3.) Tyler Myers is soo overrated haha okay so Smiths stat line-42GP-2G-6A Myers stat line-39GP-1G-7A. What a joke and now you want a top 10 goal scorer in the LEAGUE! Not to mention a 1st round pick hahah get real

4.) Yeah enough with the ridiculous one sided trades for myers.no gm in the league would give up this much for him.especially not a good gm like holland

5.) 24 Jan 2015 14:58:12
pretty sure the isles pick will be bottom 10 this year, which is in no way too much for guy whos 8th in scoring among dmen.

Just an idea:

DET wants a right handed D-man who can move the puck and NJ needs young skilled forwards;

To DET: Adam Larsson, 3rd rd 2015

To NJ: Tomas Tatar

Larsson hasn't had the greatest of seasons and isn't as established at DET might want but I think he could really thrive under Babcock. NJ really needs some young gifted forwards so I think this is good for both teams. Maybe DET gives up Jurco and a pick instead.

sabres14

1.) Adresses both teams needs. I'm not sure how high Detroit values TT.

2.) Not bad but I don't see the wings giving up Tatar. maybe Jurco and a pick and the wings might do it

I doubt that BUF will get McEichel this year but the way Reinhart and Domi are clicking i'd be just as happy to get Domi. If our pick is 3-6 overall:

To BUF: Max Domi

To ARI: BUF's first overall pick 2015

I think BUF could add a B level propect if necessary or a draft pick

sabres14

1.) Buffalo can get somebody better than Domi in their draft position

2.) I like the idea of bringing in Domi for the Sabres. Reinhart and him would be a nice duo to have moving forward. Maybe packaging the NYI 1st and a few other pieces could get it done?

3.) Domi could be had for a lot less

4.) Or they can keep Domi and draft Marner with the 4th overall pick

To MTL: Drew Stafford (retain 50%), William Carrier, NYI 2015 1st

To BUF: Lars Eller, Nikita Sherbak

MTL could use another top 6 winger and BUF needs a good puck possession player and solid centre so we can stop putting wingers at centre. IMO it's a fair deal but I not who adds and how much

sabres14

1.) I take it Sherbak is the deal breaker would Stafford with retained salary straight for Eller work or would BUF add?

2.) Actually, Hodgson, McCormick, Mitchell, Girgenson, Ennis & Flynn are now and hopefully next year Grigorenko and Reinhart will be centers. It is just the "Village Motivator" who decides to put Foligno at center and make lines with all right or all left handed shots. Go to www.LeftWingLock.com to confirm my statement.

3.) No thanks from Habs

4.) Stafford 0.58 pts/gm
542 141 173 314
eller 0.36 pts/gm
314 52 62 114
gms--goals-ass---pts
IMO Stafford is worth more than Eller based on life time and this years stats.
Carrier & 1st is worth more than Nikita Scherbak.
Remember right handed shots are a real premium.
Here are two scenarios
Drew Stafford (retain 50%), William Carrier, NYI 2015 2nd for Lars Eller, Nikita Sherbak
or
Drew Stafford (retain 50%) for Lars Eller & 2015 3rd.
As I said above, Centers are not a problem now and less in the future for the Sabres.

5.) @Boris Bagel, great we agree, no deal. I love it when we agree.

6.) None of the centres you mentioned that are on the team now actually look good a centre and definetly can't win face offs. Eller is signed long term on a good contract, is great at face offs and is a hard working Ted Nolan type player. If we don't get McEichel which we most likely won't Eller would make a great 3C behind Reinhart and Girgs. He can be moved up to a 2C while they develop.

7.) @sabres14, you are correct that Eller is a faceoff beast, but does make him equal to Stafford, IMO no. Stafford also brings a physical presence to the game as well as scoring more points. IDK why but if you look at their entire history the Sabres hardly ever approached average FO%. IMO they should hire Konopka as a face off coach.

8.) Stafford is a UFA, a rental, you won't get equal player signed long term/reasonable cap hit.
at best 2nd rounder & B level prospect

Here is a proposal that I think will really benefit both teams. ARZ is looking for help up front and SJS need D depth so:

To SJS: Keith Yandle

To ARZ: Joe Pavelski

I think Joe and Boedker would look really good together as would Yandle and Vlasic. Those pairs could definitely do some damage and it also allows Burns to move back to forward where he has stated he prefers much more. I'm not sure on how close their value is so if someone adds who and how much?

sabres14

1.) 12 Dec 2014 03:52:11
I like it but I don't know how pavelski would do without Thornton

2.) I don't think the Sharks would get rid of Pavelski I think they want to build around him and Couture and I read somewhere that they were close to naming Pavelski the captain

3.) 12 Dec 2014 09:43:37
ARZ easily adds.

4.) If Domi or Perlini were involved I think San Jose would take it

To BOS: Chris Stewart (Retain 45%), J.T. Compher, 2016 1st rd

To BUF: Malcom Subban

Boston gets a player that I believe would look great with Lucic and Krejci, a big, skilled, centre prospect who will most likely captain team U.S.A. at the juniors and a top 10 pick in 2016. With Tukka there is no need for Subban and I believe he is just a trade chip at this point.

Buffalo gets a potential franchise goaltender. I don't believe Enroth or Neuvirth will ever be legitimate #1 goalies and after Traverse city I'm getting worried about Makarov (Although he did have a good preseason outing).

This should be done closer to the deadline so BUF can better assess Subban and BOS can assess their own needs

I find it hard to assess the value of a forward for goalie trade so the value may be off but I believe this is a good deal for both teams

sabres14

1.) 09 Oct 2014 06:53:18
wayyyyy to much for malcolm

stewart alone could easily get him and probably a pick

2.) Values there but I just don't seeOston giving up there future for a soon to be UFA when they already have to many to resign

3.) *Boston

4.) Rask is 27, he should be in Boston for the next decade, I think their future is more than secure.

5.) Subban hasn't done anything , why do you think he's worth all that?

How often do you see teams trading away players with the talent of McEichel. You don't trade away generational talent like McEichel and as good as O'reilly is he's no where near the talent of that of those two. Look at the production of even Eichel in his draft year compared to other NHL stars that came from college. Eichel has better PPG production than likes of Toews, Parise, Kessel, Pacioretty list goes on. There's only 2 players in College history to have better production than Eichel and those are St. Louis and Kariya who both played in a much different time. If Murray trades our pick he should be fired immediately

I think he meant a 4th to 7th rounder

The idea with O'reilly is that he would play centre for a year or so cause I'm sure Murray doesn't want his top 3 centres to be under 21 next year. Eventually either he or Kane would shift to their off wing. A couple years from now the line of:

Kane - Reinhart/ McEichel - O'reilly

Looks pretty dirty to me. O'reilly is just having an off season I think all the contract issues may be getting to him. But the guy is a beast. He works extremely hard throughout the year. I really hope Murray doesn't give up one of our three core defencemen (BoGo, Zads, Risto) to get him tho. That would really hurt our D for a long time. I still think he gave up too much in the Kane deal but it's too early to tell I guess

Theres also a high probability that we get one of McEichel in the draft so with McEichel, Reinhart, and Girgensons (not to mention Grigorenko) at centre there's really no room for eller

Murray is very high on BoGo that's why he was willing to give up Myers. Him Risto and Zads are off the table now Myers is gone. I think Murray's best offer for O'reilly now is Grigorenko, our other 1st and one of Pysyk and McCabe possibly another prospect. Murray is trying to make this a quick rebuild trading BoGo leaves us with a huge hole
