What I'm thinking habs should try for.

COLUMBUS: 3rd overall pick and they are looking to unload Scott Hartnell salary.

MTL: 9th overall pick and 2nd round pick. Likely to add a prospect as well I'm just not too sure if it's an A level or B level.

Columbus is looking to draft a future #1 center man. With 3rd pick and obvious that would be puuliarvi makes sense they would move down and drop Hartnell salary in the process. Columbus could draft Brown or Keller with 9th pick. MTL would draft Puuliarvi and pick up Hartnell for left side.

Patches Chucky Gally
Hartnell Plecky Puuliarvi

Thoughts? What needs to be added or subtracted? Columbus is on a budget and is am advantage to drop Hartnells salary.

based on his production, hartnell is worth more than the 4.5 million cap hit he comes with. you're not getting him as a cap dump.

2.) 21 Jun 2016 05:56:34
Hartnell can produce on any team on any line, the only reason Columbus wants to get rid of him is to sign Jones in particular and other upcoming players. He's still a good player.

3.) 21 Jun 2016 11:22:58
Hartnall will get good value this is bad start with Galchenyuk.

4.) 21 Jun 2016 13:31:48
I think it would be more appetizing to Columbus if it was clarkson instead.

5.) 21 Jun 2016 14:18:09
Galchenyuk would not be involved in this deal. They would have to take the 9th pick and draft. I'd be willing to give up McCaron or Sherbak or possibly Juulsen. Maybe 2 of 3. If MTL trades Galchenyuk is this trade then they have to go look for a #1 center so it just adds another hole.

I like Hartnell but he can't skate at this pace, maybe aging, but he is 100% being exposed on his backcheck and defensive assignments. Can score and grit it out still, but defensive play, skating and salary is weighing him down.

Alright. After last night's shit shit show I need to vent. After the comments made by Therrien singling out P. K it's time for him to go even if the season means nothing anymore. He has put a huge target on Subban after what he has done this season for Mtl. Your not trading Subban because as soon as you do what are you going to look to trade for? A #1 dman like Subban. It is an embarrassment to be a habs fan and watch this coach single out 1 bad play after 3 month and 30 some games of bad plays. It is a joke. Therrien is a joke. He chose last night to make the players choose between agreeing with him or P. K. Patches has shown very like effort and is starting to show what kind of Captain he will be. If your going to comment stupidly about how the habs suck don't even bother. This is on Bergeven as well as he has backed his coach instead of his superstar. Frustrating to watch this happen.

I think that goal last night was more Patches fault than Subbans myself. What was he doing there? That was painful to watch, he looked lost there.

I agree sanehabsfan. Time for him to go.. I agree about Patches as well.. I don't think he should go..in jus don't think he is captain material. Gallagher or PK woulda been my choice.

Here's why Matthews will go #1. He is a center man and Laine is a winger. You build with winning the battles in the middle. 2nd Laine is very good. More potential then Matthews IMO but he has a big mouth on him. Not saying that is a bad thing but you think that Shannahan, Lou, and Babcock will stand for that? Lou won't even let you grow facial hair so they will take the safe pick and go with Matthews I look forward to see Laine play in person for the Jets!

Reimer is a UFA on July 1. I would personally just wait. I'd also take a run at Fleury overy Reimer.

I can honestly say I don't know is he is worth a 1st round pick alone. I would offer a couple 2nd round piks and a B level prospect. It's tough because he has a lot of upside. Might do Juulsen and a 2nd and a B level prospect but the would be max. Think what you want he's still a flop at this time. Not saying that can't change because I do think a fresh start would do him good and I do think MTL should take a shot at him. Having a Russian influence with Markov and Emelin could help the kid out a believe along with an old teammate Chucky.

Holy shoot I feel stupider from reading your posts. What did mtl give up? Two bottom 6 guys. Those guys will not bring you back a top 6 guy. Danault looked very good as the 3rd line center. Very good on draws defensive responsible and was afraid to throw his body around. This will help slot guys once again. Will be a cheaper option. Money is key for your bottom 6 players. Plus he got a 2nd round pick for fleishmann. Good one Bergevin. Really enjoyed watching MCCARRON also. Excited to see him play down the middle in the top 6 guys. Made stuff happen and he didn't arrive to the city till 3:30pm after playing night before.

Maybe if toronto takes Carle's contract back which could be possible. Others will need to be included just too much money difference in drouin for Gardiner as the base of the deal.

Oilers take that deal in a minute from mtl. Would Fowler for RNH be a better deal? If oilers trade RNH they need a 3rd line center and could resign Weise a heart kind of guy with leadership. If you would actually look at Lars Ellers numver as a 3Rd line shut down penalty killing centre he is one of the best in the league. Instead of judging him cause he desnt score or doesn't have the big name like all these edmonton underachievers does not mean he is a cap dump. Something edmonton needs bad. That could be a conditional 3rd pick something if Weise resigns. Too much for hamonic. He's a top 3 dman but with that 1st round pick you could draft a really good dman. I would look for other options.

Trouba and a first for hamonic? Why doesn't Jets just call islanders and go straight up Trouba for Hamonic. This makes zero sense.

I agree. I'm from Toba and see little and schieffle play. They are both 2nd line centers imo same with bozak and Kadri. However I would like to look up more Stats than just points per games play to determine who's better than who. Plus/ minus. Minutes per game. Corsi. Lots of other things to compare.
