NJ reporter (Tom Gulitti) said that he wouldn't be surprised if they traded their 6th overall (2015) for scoring help.
If there is a chance they are open to trading, the Leafs should put together a package.
Leafs Trade:
Kessel, Lupul, + (defensive prospect or player)
NJ Trades:
6th overall, Larsson, and a pick/prospect
I personally think Kessel is worth more, but this isn't a perfect world.

The things that the devils have a lot of vets that are getting very close to retirement and I don't think they have a high potential forward (future star type) in the prospect pool. So trading a high first round pick in a very deep draft year wouldn't be something I could see the devils doing given they could still get a high quality forward prospect in this years draft.
You may be able to trade someone like JVR to the devils as he is a good forward in his prime but someone like Lupul isn't someone I could see NJ trading for due to his injury history and in general I don't see the devils moving the 6th pick in what is expected to be a very deep draft year.

McJesus Christ, I think you're getting upset over people comparing expected value to present value. Marner is expected to be better then Domi (and by better I mean significantly) . However, today Domi is the better NHL player.
On a side note, if you want to discredit players using weight as a reason isn't helping your case. You know, with there being a plethora of statistical evidence available.

If Fowler is only worth Yakupov I believe your value system for players/ prospects is significantly off.
At the rate you're going you might as well put a list like this together:
Yakupov Traded one ofr:
1. Krug
2. Barrie
3. Orlov
4. Vatanen
5. Jones
6. Trouba
7. Lindholm
8. R. Murray
9. Dumba
10. Oleksiak
I doubt any team takes Yakupov.

Senior Management has poor talent analysis. Nothing positive to say about any of their moves except. Kesler. That Kesler Trade was a massive steal.

The value heavily favours Philly.
By your logic Kadri = B.Schenn.
So Kessel = 1st, L. Schenn and Lecavalier (Cap dump = negative value).
By all accounts if that is what Kessel would fetch the Leafs are better off keeping him.
