I have heard the Leafs will sign Brandon Prust this off season to protect the youngsters. I also believe they will sign Stamkos 7years 80 million. I have heard that he only stumbling block to trading for Frederik Andersen is Anaheim want the leafs 2nd round pick 2016 draft.

I think F. Anderson would be great for the Leafs and if it takes their 2nd round pick and something else then I would do it personally. Or just wait a long time to develop your own goalie.

There is no enforcers or protectors in today's NHL. Look all around the NHL, they all ended up in the Minors. Prust, Rinaldo, Downie, T. Jackman, I could go on but you get the point by now. Hopefully.

Enforcers are out of the game, but I do agree that adding Prust and Stewart also a tough dman. Will make others take cheap shots at our younsters.

No there are not enforcers but if you can play the game and fight, that is a bonus. I'm not sure if Prust is still a capable 4th liner. A couple months ago I suggested the leafs sign Prust and Schenn for a little grit and character. It was the first time in years Chirp agreed with me.

Why is everyone trading JVR?
The only way JVR is being traded is if someone blows the LEAFS doors off with a potential trade, or JVR and the LEAFS can not come to terms on an extension. There is a reason lots of teams want or could use a player like JVR and that is the same reason why the LEAFS should (and will) keep him.

if they sign stamkos they should keep him, if not they get as many assets as they can for the rebuild, jvr is 27, stamkos is a year younger. people keep talking about how stamkos is too old for the leafs when they hit their prime, well so will jvr.
