to Buffalo
Hutchinson

to Winnipeg
2nd

EXPLANATION
Buffalo and Winnipeg seem to be on good terms, so they might agree to this. Hutchinson is losing his edge as the goaltending carousel has had Hellebuyck, a very good goaltender, take the spotlight, so when Pavelec comes back me might be the third wheel of it all. Buffalo is short on goaltenders and who knows if Johnson can really work once they get good; he hasn't really worked elsewhere as a backup. Hutchinson is definitely an NHL caliber goalie and has shown he has skill, but probably needs a change of scenery.

one team definitely needs offense
to Tampa Bay
Moore
Tlusty
2nd

to New Jersey
Drouin
Condra

EXPLANATION
Tampa Bay is an entirely complete team (which is why Drouin wants out) except for one spot on defense currently held by Nesterov. He isn't great, and what's wrong with him isn't very fixable (decision-making ability), so I'm sure he would do better in the AHL. Instead would be a decent young defenseman in Moore, as well as a replacement for Condra (going the other way) in Tlusty, who is also young and has shown flashes of greatness with the Hurricanes in the past. In return, the Devils get an elite wing prospect to play with Zacha for many seasons to come, as well as a decent veteran winger to replace Tlusty. 2nd rounder balances the value.

to Nashville
Malkin

to Pittsburgh
Josi
Ribiero

EXPLANATION
Nashville can't really score a lot, but those who do are their wingers. A world-class center would certainly change that. Pittsburgh was having trouble scoring, but since their new coach is an offensive-minded one their offense should be fine even with someone who isn't Malkin but is still quite good playing on the second line. Also, Kessel could finally develop chemistry with Crosby, as he will be doing less switching between the two top centers. The Pittsburgh defense is truly terrible, with nobody truly able to play top-two minutes with Letang (Daley is ok but irresponsible, Cole is just ok and the rest lack experience), so Josi would fit in nicely on the top line. Nashville has room to give up a top-level defenseman because hey have jones just waiting to fit into that top pairing, with Ekholm and Ellis still a perfectly capable second pair.

Kissel for Josi instead

2.) 18 Dec 2015 22:13:44
@sam penguins don't have wing depth but do have center depth.

3.) 19 Dec 2015 01:29:48
Malkin is the only pen that's producing. Nsh adds more.

4.) 19 Dec 2015 01:43:40
They would still have to add for Malkin, aforementioned in your post, he is an elite center and Josi and Ribiero are not enough for him. Although, Nashville would do wonders having Neal and Malkin reunited and Forseberg on the left.

Hamonic needs to go home for some reason

to NY Islanders
Hamhuis

to Vancouver
Hamonic

EXPLANATION
They're of similar ability and talent, but I'm not quite sure of what that exactly is, so perhaps a pick goes onto one side or the other. I don't know. Hamhuis has a larger cap hit, but they're both locked up at a similar length, so perhaps the canucks add a 4th or something.

yocoiley84

1.) 02 Dec 2015 04:10:07
Nucks would have to subtract 10 years off Hamhuis's age.

2.) 02 Dec 2015 04:43:39
They won't want Hammer due to age and uncertainty to resign. Hammer won't go that far from fam as doesn't really want to move them.

3.) 02 Dec 2015 13:34:09
Hamhuis is a pending UFA so how are their contracts similar again?

4.) 02 Dec 2015 20:40:49
one of the most illogical hamonic trades I've seen so far.

5.) 03 Dec 2015 03:06:07
Make Edler waive and send him and something for Hamonic.

Hutton-Hamonic
Hammer-Tanev
Sbisa-Bartowski.

to NYR
Marleau
Tierney

to San Jose
Kreider

EXPLANATION
The Rangers are the definition of a win-now team. Kreider is young and useful, but doesn't provide as much offense as the rangers would require. San Jose already has said offense, and to add to it they re getting old, so a younger player wouldn't be too shabby. Tierney is a decent player who complements the lower value of Marleau, who is pretty old.

Krieder is already better, younger, cheaper then marleau so obv no from NY.

18 Dec 2015 18:55:15
to Calgary
Ward

to Carolina
Hiller
3rd/2nd (conditional based on if calgary makes playoffs)

EXPLANATION
Calgary has truly awful goaltending
Carolina is just bad
Ward is still an ok goalie, even is his best years are behind him, and is an upgrade over either of Calgary's present goaltenders
Lack and Hiller can be a tandem until Nedeljkovic is ready.

1.) 24 Dec 2015 00:12:16
Ramo's actually been pretty good lately.

2.) 24 Dec 2015 03:54:05
In fact Ramo's overall stats this year are better than Ward, and he's younger.

Not a trade, but I have to ask:
Why does this page take so long to display submitted trades and comments?

{Ed's Note - at the moment it is taking longer than usual because I am away visiting family, but it has to wait on someone to read and check the post before it can be posted up on the page. Too much abuse to filter out to allow it to autopost.}

Thanks Chirp :D

2.) 08 Oct 2015 01:02:30
Come on guys your probably making his job a lot harder! No hate but why do the ">,=, Ovechkin or something.

3.) 08 Oct 2015 15:51:29
Hahaha jeez! Something about those signs that screws something up!

06 Oct 2015 02:58:55
to Winnipeg
Smith
Samuelsson

to Arizona
Enstrom
Pavelec
2nd

EXPLANATION
Arizona has plenty of prospects, but lack top 4 Defensemen. Enstrom and Pavelec both have heavy-ish cap hits, so the removal of those hits (despite the addition of Smith's) would likely make the Ladd+ Byfuglien situation easier to manage. Jets' main lack in their prospect pipeline is RWs, with Armia being their only decent prospect in that position. Chiarot is blossoming and should fill the hole made by Enstrom's departure
I'm not sure if I should add another pick or something to the package heading to Arizona, but it seems even to me

Torres just got a 41-gamer. How much you want to bet he gets traded to Toronto?

yocoiley84

1.) 06 Oct 2015 22:01:02
No one will take a trade unless it's pavelski and a 1st + Torres to Toronto

Sadd and Johansen are infinitely better than the return and are still developing.
