After all of Detroit's free agency moves
M. Green (D) - 3 years 6 mil
B. Richards (C)- 1 year 3 to 4 mil
B. Smith (D) - 2 years 5.5 mil

I believe we are overstocked in the defensive area with our youngsters bursting at the brim (Marchenko, Oullette, maybe Nick Jensen)
Blockbuster trade for NYR - Rick Nash (who DET tried to acquire when he was with COL)
DET trades
- Tomas Jurco (RW)
- Jonathon Ericcson (D)
- Xavier Oullette (D)
- Jakub Kindl (D)
- 1st round pick (2016)
- 3rd round pick (2016)
NYR trades
- Rick Nash (LW)
- Dan Boyle (D)

With PIT trading for Kessel they may be willing to move Malkin. DET could go all in on a Stanley Cup by trading for him and we still keep our star prospect (Larkin)
DET trades:

Xavier Oullette (D)
Jakub Kindl (D)
Jonathon Ericcson (D)
1st round pick (2016)
2nd round pick (2016)
2nd round pick (2017)
PIT trades -
Egveni Malkin (C)
Ben Lovejoy (D)
Maxim Laperierre (C)

How? PIT is getting two of our top 5 prospects, a young line 2 center who has potential, and a solid top 4 Dman, plus 3 early draft picks? Malkin is injury prone don't forget and a 9 million dollar cap hit
NYR - top D prospect, top 4 Dman and top 10 winger prospect and a 1st rounder .
Please explain

Pittsburgh doesn't want prospects in return for a player like Malkin. They just acquired Phil Kessel in order to to try and win now. That being said they wouldn't be willing to move malkin now because they have a much larger chance in winning a championship with him than without him.
