To CGY: $8.5mil
C/LW-JT Miller @5.25/UFA2023
LW-Tanner Pearson @3.25/UFA2024

To VAN: $2.725mil
2023-1st Round Pick-CGY
2022-2nd Round Pick-CGY
D-Jusso Valimaki @1.55/RFA2023
W/C-Dillon Dube @2.30/RFA2024
-------
To CGY: $1mil
W/C-Calle Jarnkrok @2mil/UFA2022
= 50% Retained

To SEA: $6.375mil
C-Sean Monahan @6.375/UFA2023
2022-5th Round Pick-CGY

Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Toffoli-JT Miller-Mangiapane
T.Pearson-Backlund-Coleman
Lucic-Jarnkrok-Lewis/Ruzicka
xRichardson

Calgary still has FLA's 2022 2nd Round Pick and their 7th Round Pick to add a Puck Moving D-Man and another Depth Insurance Guy (R.Hagg/E.Gustaffson), assuming they can fit more under the Cap. I'm counting on Jarnkrok wanting to stay in CGY and re-signing on a Team Friendly extension.

CGY will trade Lucic to Seattle in the off-season to help sign their FA's and then trades for him back @50% retained by the deadline for additional compensation = kind of a strategic trade deal/agreement. Alternatively it would be Backlund being Traded in the off-season.

Crouse might be a better 3LW option, but Pearson should cost less to acquire, has substantially more playoff experience, already knows Sutter & his system and might be a 2nd Coleman type player for the flames at 2/3 the cap hit.

If SEA doesn't want Monny, CGY Trades him to Buffalo for a 3rd and sends that Pick or their other 2nd to SEA for Jarnkrok 25-50% Retained. I think Jarnkrok would be a great & versatile fit for the Flames.

Miller is top 10 in the league for scoring on a very reasonable contract. Canucks need a lot more to trade Miller.

The THC content must be getting way up there in BC homegrown.

It's a reasonable contract for one more year and then he's a 30 year old UFA. If he had more term he'd be worth closer to what Canucks fans think he is but he doesn't and isn't.

Only one Vancouver moves Miller is for a quality prospect and more. They need a sure thing top 3/ 6F or top 2/ 4D.
Nothing in this offer is going to give them that.

I think they’re hoping for either Laf/ Kakko, Turcotte or Rossi as the building block of a trade.

It's the Equivalent of Two 1sts + Two 2nds = Two NHL Ready Top Prospects + Two Top Picks.

Vancouver is wanting a Young LD, so Valimaki fits that bill. Dube may not have the ceiling Kakko and Laf have, but then again maybe he does, he's been producing pretty close to same numbers and has shown he's capable of playing just as good as both of them so far. Dube also kills penalties and can play Centre, which is supposed to add more value as well, no? Rossi and Turcotte are still unknowns and there's no guarantee they will be better than Valimaki or Dube yet either, so other than being picked higher, are they for sure better players? I think Laf is, but not the others, not yet anyways.

It's a rich offer as far as I'm concerned to get a Top 10 Player and an inconsistent but familiar veteran forward with playoff and Sutter experience.

Flames could probably flip JT Miller at next seasons trade deadline to get a 1st + Prospect/ 2nd back if they wanted OR if Mangiapane only signs a 1 year contract, they decide between the two who they pay to stay by next seasons deadline. Would be nice to get a Top 2C for this years playoffs is my proposed goal.

@TrevoA Yeah it's a rich offer, too rich in fact.

I still say Miller won't be traded this year. Next year is another story, then they'll have to either pony up with a big contract or get realistic about what he's worth.

@Trevor you clearly don’t understand what I’m saying. Vancouver needs quality not quantity.
2 poor first round picks, 2 picks that haven’t panned out, and some leftovers won’t equate a top 25 nhl player in 3 years.
They need a build around prospect for trading Miller.

Canucks fans are delusional. You don't get a young player to build a team around for a 30 year old UFA which is exactly what Miller will be when his contract expires next year.

If anything the extra year makes him harder to trade than if he was a pure rental. The teams that would be most interested in getting him are contenders and they can't afford to pay him next year without dropping somebody they don't want to drop.

@Hockey Dad, I think you're seriously undervaluing Valimaki and Dube and don't understand that Sutter is old school and tends to favour Veterans over Prospects and wants Young Guys to develop longer and earn opportunities instead of being or feeling entitled to them.

Valimaki was picked #16 for a reason and can still be a Top 1-4 NHL D-Man in time. Dube is having a down year, but can still be a Top-6 Forward, Top-9 for sure. He's versatile and can move up and down the line-up. He just isn't a fit under Sutter. Both players could be inserted in to VAN's lineup right away and my proposal clears 5.775mil in Cap Space, which are the things VAN wants.

Maybe Miller isn't available, but my offer is substantial enough for them to consider it. What's Tanner Pearson worth? Maybe a 2023-3rd RD Pick or Dillon Dube straight across!? I'd keep Dube, but the Flames are in win now mode and Pearson might help.

Is CGY’s 2023 1st Round Pick tied up in the Toffoli trade or can they still trade it making it conditional to becoming a 2024 1st if it goes to MTL instead of the 2022 pick which is Top 10 Protected.

Canucks would never make that deal. Miller and Pearson are on our top line and Pearson is doing great (Miller has been great since we got him and he is on fire now). Calgary would have to add a lot.

There is no chance the Canucks go for this. Miller alone should get better quality returns. Then you throw in Pearson (who is having a very good year)? No chance.

These guys would be a huge help for the Flames and the playoffs but there's no chance this deal gets it done. It'll cost the Flames their top 3-4 top prospects plus a 1st or some combo of that ilk.
