Like the rumors of maybe the Oilers getting Berglund but not if it makes another hole in the roster.

How about this trade;

Oilers - Berglund

Blues - Lander, Gernat, 3rdp 2015

OR would it have to be more like;

Oilers - Berglund

Blues - Petry

If it goes this way then Oilers create a gap in the defense. However there are teams in cap trouble so they might be able to fill that hole.

Maybe;

Boychuk for Gernat and a 3rdp 2015
OR
Seabrook for Gernat and 1rdp 2016

Boston is tight on cap space and Chicago is at the top and they need to resign Kane and Toews.

Well . thoughts??

Your over valuing your players by a lot in these trades and it would take Eberle to get Seabrook

I suggested that earlier. To solve this 2nd line centerman dilemma is to first get boychuk (gernat + 2nd rd pk and of course he signs extension before) or seabrook (gernat + 2016 1st rd pk). This will give both teams cap relief. I like couburn but he is not that much better than petry. After doing the trade, then oilers trade Petry for berglund or any other similar centerman (Eakins in Dallas or anisomov in Columbus).

Another option would be to get lecavieler with his salary for lander and 3rd rd pk. Phili gets salary relief. Oilers use buyout on lecavieler and resign him to a good deal.

What about bailey with the islanders? Lander and 3rd rd pk or prospect for bailey as long as islanders take 800,000 of his salary leaving oilers with 2.5 m.

What about oilers offer 1st rd pk 2016 + lander + Petry for couburn and couturier. Phili get cap relief and sign a good d-man in Petry for cheaper than couburn and of course 1st rd pk. Oilers gets a young good centerman and a good d-man.

Any options you like?

Edm Oil, there so many problems with your post:
-- in regard to Lecavilier, you can't buy out a player and then re-sign him. It's part of the CBA.
-- not nearly enough for Bailey. Isles are not in a bind with him, they've simply made it known he is available. They won't just give him away.
-- not worth giving up a 1st+ for Coburn (similar player to Petry, as you said) and Couturier. Couturier is good, but Oilers are looking for what I'd consider more of a "rental" at 2nd line C than they are a player they'd hope to extend for years. They're looking for someone that gives them the opportunity to ease Draisaitl in by playing him on the 3rd line. Someone like Berglund, or Mueller, or (until he signed with Ottawa) Legwand. Berglund would be ideal because he is a 2nd/3rd line center already signed to a very reasonable contract so after a year or two he and Draisaitl could merely switch lines. Mueller, IMO, would be a cheap roll of the dice that would probably be happy just getting another shot at the NHL. If he doesn't work out, at least he wouldn't be under a 5-year anvil-of-a-contract.

I do like the idea of Anisimov, but I fear getting him would involve giving up something Edm needs (a current dman like Petry, or a good bottom-6er like Hendricks or Gordon, neither of which they can afford to give up right now).

Trust me, Chicago is not interested in trades whatsoever, especially for their top players. But it would be beautiful to see Seabrook in Edmonton.

Like absolutely beautiful.
