NYI: Bailey, Donovan, Lee, 2nd

Isles top line - Kane - Tavares - Okposo

Winnipeg gets a huge boost at center,

Both teams have a better shot
at making the playoffs

Likely that the Islanders woulndnt give a
first rounder with a chance at McDavid or Eichel
next draft, and although it seems like a lot
of assets out of New York, the Isles have an
abundance of roster players to offer.

Am I crazy?

Isles wont' give a first round pick in 2015, because they do not have one.

Scoring is not the problem with the Isles, they have depth there. Defense is the problem, if they are putting together a package for a player it will be for a top 4 D-Man, not another forward.

Isles were in the bottom half of the league last year in goals per game, power play, and team shooting %
They need to score more goals

I agree they also need a defensive tune up but I think there are other less costly ways.

For example Clutterbuck and/or a prospect would fetch a decent dman.

OL you do not know anything about Hockey. The Isles were a middle or the road scoring team last year with little depth and Tavares hurt. The Isles have already added Kulemin and Grabovski to help their depth, and will have a full year from Strome and Lee along with Nelson who is no longer a rookie. They now have solid depth at forward with

Nelson/Lee-Tavares-Okposo
Kulemin-Grabovski-Strome
Nelson/ Lee-Nielsen-Grabner
Martin-Czikas-Clutterbuck

In addition Kane is overrated. His best year is 57 points. Lee can have a 57 points season too playing with tavares so why give up assets to get him.

Initially, I was happy that the NYI decided to keep this years 1st, but now IMO the NYI made enough of moves that they will be in a very good position to make the playoffs next year. So only time will tell but, it looks like the SBR will only have one lottery pick and two late 1st round picks. But the SBR are poised to make the playoffs in 2016 with the kids coming up and the UFA's that Murray signed this year.

With more mobile D-man the isle will score much more and think about it tavres got injured so the scoring basically stops there .
