MTL trade David Desharnais (retain 50%) to PHI for Vincent Lecavalier & Robert Hagg

Desharnais has a decent contract but Lecavilalier on the other hand has a aweful contract. You would have to retain 50% of Lecavilalier's contract for this to work but even the Montreal would decline

No chance! Especially with the retained salary. That would push Mtl way over the cap. I'd take DD over Vinny. Vinny is getting old.

Vinny is over the hill. It was between Mtl and Philly and Mtl went only to 3 years at 4M.
Philly gave him a stupid ridiculous contract. Now they cannot give Vinny away even if they are willing to retain half the contract.
Vinny had a 1M bonus due July 1st. Philly paid him. You think he would be easier to move? Nope. No one wants him.
